Bottles & Swings...

We've had lots of new discoveries over the past few days... Last Friday we tried a bottle for the first time so that Dad could also have a chance to feed Peyton.  What can we say, Peyton is a eater and doesn't seem to care how she gets it - the first bottle went GREAT!!!  Chad has now had a chance to feed her a bottle every day and since she did so well with the bottle over the weekend, I had a chance to get out last night!  That's right, my neighbor Amy & I braved the FREEZING cold weather last night and headed to see Four Christmases.  It was a hilarious movie and a great chance to get out of the house for a couple of hours.  Peyton had just finished eating when I got home and was a very happy baby - both Peyton & Chad seemed to enjoy their Peyton & Daddy time!!

Also on Saturday we finally figured out what people had been talking about when they told us the swing was a wonderful soother for little ones...  See we had struggled with the swing because it seemed that Peyton's head was always moving around too much and because she is still so little it seemed to always crunch her body up and she never looked comfortable.  Oops - we didn't realize that the swing had two recline levels and we were using the most upright position.  After adjusting the swing to be more reclined Peyton loves her swing and follows the bees & leaves moving above her (since she couldn't really see them before).  It is so fun to watch her discover toys and things around her!

How wonderful that Daddy can bond with Peyton by giving her a bottle. It is great that Mommy can feel comfortable in leaving her for a couple of hours with the assurance Peyton won't starve! I'm relieved to know that swing can be of more use now - I was always afraid to put Peyton in it for fear she would tumble out of it. Oops! Maybe since it was assembled when Grandpa and I bought it for the baby shower we should have taken the time to read the directions! She still has plenty of time to get hours of enjoyment out of it, thank heavens. I'm looking forward to seeing Peyton, her Mommy and her Daddy tomorrow for a short visit. Pray for warmer weather!
