Weekly Happenings - 4/15 - 4/21

1.  On Friday, Peyton had a special surprise - Grammy picked her up for a Grammy & Peyton day!  After lunch at Freddy's (with ice cream of course) they made a trip to the mall!  Peyton rode the carousel, went to the "Mickey Mouse" store, did a little shopping and of course had to pick something out for Piocano at her store while they were there!  They had a great time from everything I've heard!

Then, Grammy & Grandma Mintun picked Garrison up at school so he could join in on the fun.  They went to Clinton for the night and enjoyed a tasty shrimp dinner!  On Saturday, the kids had a great visit - Peyton loves to play card games and learned Old Maid on this visit.  After Garrison's nap, everyone went to an anniversary party where they had nothing other than "cake"!  After a quick trip home (where Garrison didn't want to change out of his stylish sweater vest), it was time to head home.

2.  On Sunday, Peyton had her Spring program at church.  The first picture is of the entire class I helped teach this year - they did such a great job!  They sang 7 songs and it was so great to watch!  My pictures and videos are all from practice.  For a reason we still don't know, Peyton didn't want to sing once all the parents/grandparents arrived.  She knew the songs very well and did a great job practicing - doesn't she look beautiful in her dress! :)

3.  After church, everyone came back to our house for brunch and a nice visit.  The kids especially loved the cherry coffee cake - I mean, how can you go wrong with "cake" for breakfast, right?!

4.  On Sunday evening, several of our friends and their kiddos came over for a BBQ - it was great to see everyone, most of whom we haven't seen since last July!  It was great weather and the kids had a blast playing t-ball, basketball and "red rover".

5.  We had a GREAT evening during this week.  We were just hanging out and decided to play a game.  We started with ring around the rosie and finished with London Bridges Falling Down!  The kids giggled and laughed, as did we - it was great, a memory I hope I never forget!

6.  Another fun game, horsey rides by Daddy!  Look at these smiles, melts my heart!!

Weekly Happenings - 4/8 - 4/14

So I am VERY far behind and now trying to catch up.  Since I am far behind, I am quite certain I will leave off some of our fun stories over the last couple of weeks.  Hopefully not too many!

1.  Daddy was out of town for a golf tournament so the kids & I drove down to Grammy & Grandpa's for a weekend of fun!  It was garage sale weekend in Clinton so Grammy & her friend had a garage sale planned.  Peyton was able to get in on the fun by having her first lemonade stand!  On Friday night, we set-up the stand and she put together her bags of cookies to sell.  Of course, Garrison wanted to get in on the fun and had a sample (or two) of the product!

Saturday morning, she couldn't get to the sale early enough and was quite the little entrepreneur!  She sold out of cookies twice and sold all of the lemonade Grammy had packed for her...in two hours!  She did a great job of pouring the lemonade her self and always said "thank you" when someone stopped by.  If she left her stand but saw people coming to the sale, she would run back saying, "there's more customers!"  So cute!

Saturday afternoon/evening brought beautiful weather so we spent lots of time playing outside.  Since it was a quiet golf day, the kids even played a little on the 3rd green.  It was great to hear them giggle and run, chasing each other and having a great time!  After lunch on Sunday it was time to head home after a great weekend!

2.  Check-out "Super Girl" Peyton! :)  The Easter Bunny brought super hero panties to our girl and she loves them!  Daddy taught her this pose, love it!  (she may kill me for this picture some day!)

3.  We were in the kitchen and Peyton started running across the room saying, "don't run, don't run, don't run."  It took me a bit to figure out what was going on...she was trying to get a tissue before her nose ran!  So cute!

4.  Garrison is learning lots of words each week.  He is also expressing his opinion more and more and uses a stomp of his foot for emphasis - hilarious!

Weekly Happenings 4/1 - 4/7

1.  This week had me traveling for Monday-Wednesday so Daddy held down the fort.  Sometimes I wonder if I should travel more often - Daddy reported that the mornings and evenings went by without a hitch!  Peyton was his big helper!  It was great to surprise the kids by picking them up on Wednesday since I got home earlier than expected!  Then on Thursday before I took the kids to school, Peyton ran over and picked a flower and brought it to me and told me she missed me when I was gone.  Wow - that was awesome!!

2.  On Friday, Grammy & Grandpa came to pick-up the kids for a visit.  They enjoyed lots of fun play time outside and Peyton even got to fly her kite on Saturday since it was a great windy day.  Lots of bubbles, Garrison tried out the slide, and what's a trip to the grandparents without a special treat - ice cream cones after lunch on Saturday!  After nap time on Saturday, they made their way back home so Peyton could go to program practice on Sunday.  From all of the stories, I believe everyone had a great time!

3.  While the kids were away, Chad & I had a great time going to our first Sporting KC game - it was a WIN in the last few minutes! - on Friday night.  Wow, what an amazing stadium and a great atmosphere.  Not sure why it took us 3 years to go to a game in the new stadium but it was awesome - hopefully we can go back sometime soon!  Then, on Saturday, we went to KC's Comic Con.  Again, wow, I didn't honestly know what to expect but it was INSANE!  The shear amount of people there was out of control - the line to get in was over 2 hours long if you didn't have a ticket (thank goodness Chad had picked up advance tickets!).  Tons of people in costumes, lots of celebrities were in attendance and overall a great experience.  After the event we enjoyed a couple of drinks in the P&L district before heading home to meet the kids.

4.  On Sunday, Daddy was playing in a golf tournament so Grammy & Grandpa came up for a visit so I could get a few things done around the house.  Before jumping into the work, though, we made our first trip to deanna Rose.  It was great - Peyton was in her element and Garrison really got into the farm on this visit sharing his animal sounds and running around to check everything out!  They loved the cows and both fed the big goats!  Peyton rode a pony and Garrison was her cheering section since he isn't old enough yet.  Lastly, we spent lots of the time on the playground and slides.  Peyton was a great big sister and helped her brother go down the huge barn slides - it was great to see the team work on their part!!  It was a beautiful day to go outside!  When we returned, we had a quick lunch outside (one of Peyton's favorites) before Garrison went down for his nap.  We packed a few boxes (getting the kitchen ready for our new cabinets), Peyton drove her car and took it to the car wash (Grammy & Peyton cleaned up her car), we swept out the garage, whew - we were busy!  After G&G left, we continued to play outside because it was gorgeous - the best was the 30+ minutes where the kids played in my car.  Peyton was the Mommy and buckled her babies into the two car seats in the back.  She asked Garrison to be the Daddy so he rode in the passanger seat and both even were buckled into their seats.  We even had to turn the music on for their "drive."  It was awesome!
