Weekly Happenings - 5/9 - 5/15

1.  Thursday was a big day for Peyton (and the rest of her Daisy troop) - she became a Girl Scout Brownie!!  Brownies are helpful around the house and kind to all.  Since her bridging ceremony on Thursday she has wanted to be extra helpful to make sure she demonstrates the values of a Brownie.  Peyton was also awarded her three badges and two other prizes for her hard work with her cookie sales this year.  So very proud of her accomplishment!!

2.  On Friday, Peyton packed her entire lunch by herself, including making herself a PB&J!

3.  On Friday, Daddy had a work event in the evening so the kids & I were on our own.  We had dinner at Olive Garden and then wrapped-up our week with ice cream from Twisters!  Yummy!!  A year ago I probably wouldn't have braved a sit down restaurant by myself with the kids but they are so well behaved and such good eaters these days it is no big deal!!

4.  On Saturday, Garrison had a big day with a soccer match and t-ball practice.  Garrison got a medal for his work on his soccer team this year at the game and he was very proud (as were we!)!!  His play has come a long way this season and he is getting better at not just following the ball but anticipating where the play is headed and jumping in to make a play.  It is so fun to watch him grow!

5.  Saturday night, the kids went to Hailey & Ethan's for a sleepover while Chad & I went to a friend's 40th birthday party at Top Golf!  I'm not sure which group had the most fun but we were all tired the next morning!

6.  Sunday started slow since we were all a little tired but Mommy let the kids get a bit messy before lunch by making homemade slime!  It was tons of fun (and gooey!!!!)!

7.  Later on Sunday, Peyton's Girl Scout troop earned the opportunity to attend a Mad Science presentation - this guy was awesome and showed them all kinds of things about pressure and air properties.

8.  Chad played golf on Sunday afternoon and although he didn't have his best round, he won his flight for the tournament!  The kids are always super excited when Daddy brings home a trophy! :)

9.  On Sunday afternoon, unfortunately, I had to go into work.  Since Chad was playing golf the kids went with me!  Although I didn't want to be at work, they thought it was great fun to meet so many of my coworkers (with more than 4 nationalities represented) and to get to watch their iPads at high tables at Mommy's office!  Ah, the little things!!

Weekly Happenings - 5/2 - 5/8

1.  On Wednesday, Chad & I had the chance to take-in a Royals day game from the Crown Club seats.  Needless to say, the experience was amazing from the gourmet brunch buffet to the in-seat drink and food service, the view, comfy seats and amazing parking.  The game left a little to be desired :( but we were thankful to spend the afternoon at at the K with a couple of friends - Tim & Jeff.  Hopefully we can get the seats again someday!

2.  On Friday, Garrison treated me to breakfast at his "Muffins with Mom" event at school.  He was a gentleman, wearing his "tuxedo" shirt, opening doors for me and even pulling over  teacher chair so I didn't have to sit on one of the small kiddo chairs.  I was one lucky Momma!!

3.  After school and work on Friday, the kids & I drove down to visit Grammy (and Grandpa) for Mother's Day!  We had a great visit that night and Saturday morning and we were excited that Grammy got to go outside a little bit to enjoy the fresh air!  I think the kids were just what she needed during her recovery time!  Peyton was quite the little physical therapist, encouraging Grammy with all of her exercises and I treated Grammy to a pedicure since she couldn't reach her toes before we had a picnic lunch and had to head home.

4.  The kids treated me like a Queen on Mother's Day - I was spoiled rotten!  The celebrating began on Saturday night the Garrison brought me flowers and chocolates (his choice on what he wanted to get for me to celebrate) and Peyton had been shopping and picked out some new workout clothes for me!  Best of all, the kids both brought me homemade cards and gifts that I will always cherish!!  On Sunday morning, the kids asked me to make sure and stay in bed as they had big plans!!  Shortly after I woke up, breakfast arrived in my room delivered by two good looking kiddos!  A big thanks to Daddy for helping them in the kitchen!  After breakfast, I got to go for a walk with Peyton to wrap-up the morning and finished out the day with a massage in the afternoon!

5.  On Sunday, Chad took the kids to Lexington to wish Grandma Todd & Nana a Happy Mother's Day and enjoy lunch with the family.  The kids had lots of fun playing with their cousins on such a beautiful day (well, before the storm rolled in!).  Grandma & Grandpa's new tree swing seemed to be the biggest hit!

Weekly Happenings - 4/25 - 5/1

1.  Monday was a big day!!  Peyton's school had a skate night and we were finally able to go!  Peyton & Garrison had a blast roller skating.  They may have both started with the guides but Peyton was off and skating (albeit against the wall)  on her own by the end of the night.  The best part was Peyton seeing several of her classmates at the skating rink and having a good time skating with them.  We may have been up WAY past bedtime to go to the skating party but it was well worth it!!

2.  Wednesday was a big day for Grammy when she had her right knee replaced.  It was a tough surgery but she came through it with flying colors!  I was able to spend the day with her on Wednesday and visit on Friday over my lunch hour.  On Thursday, however, I think the kids won out when they visited Grammy!  They were happy to see Grammy doing well but just about as excited about the snacks and many cool machines in her room to help with her therapy!

3.  Saturday, Garrison had another soccer match.  This game was extra fun as Garrison's team played one of his BFF's (Jabez) team!  Here he is kicking the ball in from the goal line!!

4.  Later on Saturday, Coach Chad kicked-off the t-ball season for Garrison's t-ball team!  Garrison is super excited that his Daddy is his coach and they had a successful first practice!  I can't wait to see both my boys out on the field this summer!!!

5.  On Saturday night, the kids helped me plant the flowers in our flower pots!  Budding gardeners, I do believe!
