Almost 37 Weeks

And Baby Boy cannot get here fast enough!!!

Peyton & Her Daddy

I LOVE this picture!! Before this picture, Peyton was using her wand to turn Daddy into all kinds of fun things - dog, frog, pig - you name it!

Trip to Clinton

Last weekend, Daddy & Grandpa Arthur were playing in a golf tournament in Clinton so Peyton & I tagged along for a visit. Shortly after we arrived, Peyton headed over to check-out some goodies on the stairs (or so we thought) - after she didn't come back, Daddy peaked around the corner to find that Peyton had Grammy's freezer door open and had pulled out the box of ice cream sandwiches. Of course, after she had gone to so much effort to find herself a snack we had to let her have one - she thought it was great!!! While we were in town we enjoyed spending time together INSIDE since it was so incredibly hot! On Sunday when the boys were playing golf, Grandma Mintun came over for a visit. Peyton entertained all of us by trying on clothes of all different sizes as we were going through her old clothes. At one point I think she had on at least 3 shirts and a swimming suit covered up by a dress - silly girl!! Later on in the morning, Grandma asked if I would sit down and play a few things on the piano for her. This turned into quite a party with Grandma & Peyton dancing while Grammy & I played the piano - hilarious!!

Peyton's First Movie - Winnie The Pooh

Last week we headed to the movie theater for Peyton's first movie - Winnie the Pooh. She was super excited about getting to pick-out her snack (Raisinettes) and seeing a movie on such a big screen. We were a little nervous about how loud it would be and how she would handle the dark but she did GREAT! One of my friends ended up coming to the same showing and had thought ahead to bring ear plugs (which she was nice enough to share) and the dark didn't catch Peyton off guard like we thought it might. She took one potty break in the middle of the show - luckily we had good timing with our potty break and she missed the "scary" part of the movie! All-in-all it was a success!!!

Fashionista

Peyton has become quite the Fashionista recently and now insists on picking out her own clothes and even dressing herself in the mornings. I love the independence and her desire to take care of herself - this will be very helpful when baby boy arrives soon! I do, however, have to give-up a little control here which sometimes results in interesting outfits. I didn't get a picture of yesterday's outfit but let me just say that it included a fleece coat (on a 103 degree day) - she is too funny!! Here are a couple of her recent ensembles...

Check-out the lacy "church" socks pulled-up to her knees -

This day she was very pastel with white socks and her brown shoes (that were really too small...) -

Grandma & Grandpa Todd's Visit

Then on Sunday, Grandma & Grandpa Todd came up for a visit. Daddy had a tournament on Sunday as well so Grandma & Grandpa picked-up Peyton and took her to the Great Mall where there was a kite/balloon festival going on. I hear that the Nemo kite was her favorite (checking it out with Grandpa below). Since it was incredibly HOT outside, Peyton showed Grandma & Grandpa around some of the fun play areas at the Great Mall and even got to play at Monkey Business for a while - her second trip. After she was good and worn out, they grabbed lunch at Backyard Burger before heading home to enjoy some coconut creme pie with Mommy! Peyton had a great visit with Grandma & Grandpa - thanks for coming! :)

After Grandma & Grandpa left, Peyton & I watched Finding Nemo (noticing a theme here) before drifting off for an awesome nap - something we both needed!! Daddy arrived home before bedtime and announced that he won his flight at the golf tournament and shot the best round of his life - YAY DADDY!!! Peyton clapped for him and said "good job" - so cute!

Grammy's Visit - Girls Time!!

A couple of weekends ago, Daddy was playing in a golf tournament in Iowa so Grammy came up to visit for a fun Girls Day!! We had a SUPER day that started with running some errands (Peyton LOVES to shop), lunch at Chipotle - a favorite of all, a trip to the pool and even a full pedicure & manicure for Peyton! We wrapped-up our day with dinner at McDonald's (or as Peyton likes to call it - Chicken Nuggets) and a trip to Toys R Us. While at Toys R Us, Peyton asked very nicely for a baby doll so while we were there she picked-out a baby that she could take care of - it had medicine, a thermometer & even a stethoscope. Until recently, Peyton could really take or leave her babies but I think with Baby Brother on the way she is really taken to her babies and plays with them every night!! Last stop before Grammy went home was Peachwave - what a yummy way to wrap-up a great day!!! Thanks for coming and spending the day with us, Grammy!!

Happy 4th of July and Other Recent Pics

Anyone that knows Peyton knows that she LOVES to play outside!! Here are a few fun pics from the last couple of weeks during some of our outdoor time! :)

Peyton & Lizzy on the "big girl" swing. Peyton is very particular though and must sit in the same spot every time she is in the swing!

Peyton has really enjoyed riding her tricycle and 4-wheeler this summer but recently we have been working on wearing her helmet so that she gets more used to it before she starts riding a bike. Daddy helped her with her helmet one night and she left it on for a couple of laps around the cul-de-sac - progress!!

Last Friday, Peyton's school was closed so we had a Peyton & Mommy day - oh did we have a good time!! We started our day by a quick stop at the grocery store for donuts & coffee/milk. Then we had a mini-breakfast picnic at the park before playing for a long time. We then headed out to run some errands and picked-up Daddy for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory - what a super fun day!!!

And last night as we were headed out to get ice cream, Peyton saw her friends playing outside and decided she wanted to play instead of get ice cream. Mommy was a bit disappointed but instead of being sad I suggested running to the store to pick-up supplies for ice cream sundaes for us to have a mini cul-de-sac party - it turned out to be an excellent idea!! What a great evening and the best way to celebrate the 4th of July!!

Olde Glory Days

That's right, last weekend was that time of year - time for Olde Glory Days in Clinton. I still can't believe it has been going on for 18 years - almost harder to believe that Chad has been able to join in the fun for 11 years of the celebration - wow!

We arrived late Friday afternoon and after a tasty steak dinner with Grammy, Grandpa Arthur and Grandma Mintun, we headed up to the square to check-out the festitivites. Since it was VERY hot, we didn't stay long but Peyton was very excited to ride the ponies this year - last year she wanted to but wasn't quite ready yet but this year she was a natural!! After the pony ride we were walking around to see what else was there and she saw the bounce house and asked to try it out. I honestly didn't think she would do much and was afraid that she wouldn't like it at all - man was I wrong!!!

Saturday morning started with the parade. Again it was super hot but luckily we sat outside one of Grandpa's buddy's offices so Peyton & I were able to sneak inside from time to time to cool off (especially important for this VERY pregnant Momma!). The parade was awesome and although Peyton wasn't thrilled about the sirens toward the beginning of the parade, she waved to most of the floats/cars and really got the hang of picking up candy!! When we went back to the square later in the day she was ready for another parade! Unfortunately, there was only one parade so instead we rode the pony again, checked out the bounce house (love this pic!) and even the carousel. The carousel was the fastest I've ever seen so none of my pictures turned out well but she definitely had a good time!!

This is an almost identical picture to last year when Peyton got to help pick cucumbers at Grandpa & Grandma Mintun's house. Grandma has been saving this one almost all week to make sure there was one for Peyton to pick - it was HUGE!

Sunday we spent a lot of the day relaxing, playing golf (for Daddy & Grandpa at least) and enjoying family time. Peyton wasn't too hip on taking a nap (again) so we headed downstairs to watch a movie. I think I fell asleep before she did but based on the below picture I think she was relaxed! Sunday Peyton also had a blast playing dress-up - note the picture below where she is wearing a sweater she wore when she was about 12-13 months old and Cinderella shoes that were just a touch too big!

And last but not least, on Monday, Daddy & Grandpa snuck in one more round of golf while us girls enjoyed a much cooler morning and played outside! Luckily, we were outside when the guys came around hole #3 and Peyton got to check-out their skills and even got to help drive the golf cart (with a little help from Daddy) on to hole #4.

Whew - what a busy but SUPER fun weekend!!! Hopefully next year it won't be quite as hot! :)

Lake Time!!

Two weekends ago we headed down for a visit with Grandma & Grandpa Todd at the Lake of the Ozarks. Unfortunately, it started pouring down rain only an hour after we arrived on Saturday morning but after some lunch and a nap, the weather cleared-up and we had a great time outside! Luckily, it was warm but not quite as hot/humid as it had been so we were able to enjoy the outdoors. Peyton enjoyed a couple of jet ski rides (and by Sunday morning she really was excited to ride "Daddy's boat"), swinging in the hammock, exploring the dock and of course, one of her all time favorites, throwing rocks! Saturday night we headed to Coconuts for dinner and luckily Grandma & Peyton were able to find a playset at the restaurant since it took quite some time for our waitress to come and take our order - ah, the speed of the lake is much slower than most other places! ;) Sunday morning after a tasty breakfast (where Peyton again reminded EVERYONE who would listen that she does NOT like eggs!) and one more ride on the jet ski we packed up and headed toward home - we had a great time!! Here are a few fun pictures from our trip to the lake -

Happy Father's Day

Time to play a little bit of catch-up on the ol' blog!! Father's Day was a few weeks ago and we had a great time celebrating with lots of family time!!

I managed to go the weekend without getting a very good picture of Peyton & her Daddy, the reason for our family to celebrate Father's Day, but this was a great one of them playing Memory together a few days ago -

Our weekend started, as it has the last few weeks, with Peyton & Daddy going to soccer practice. After soccer practice, Peyton & I headed down to Clinton to celebrate with Grandpa Arthur and the rest of the family. Since Grandpa had to work on Saturday morning, Peyton & I played with Grammy & Grandma Mintun - lots of bubbles, slide time and enjoying some homemade yogurt pops - yummy!! Peyton wasn't too hip on the concept of a nap so we all decided to watch a movie instead - she fell asleep sitting up about 5 minutes into the movie, it was super cute!! After nap time came a quick dip in the pool - Peyton loves to play in the water in just about any way she can! Uncle Mark, Joe & Tom then joined in the fun for dinner - we had a great time! Unfortunately, I had failure number 2 in that I didn't get a picture with Peyton & Grandpa Arthur together either, but here are a few fun ones from the day -

Sunday morning, Peyton & I got up bright and early and baked Daddy one of his favorites - Cherry Coffee Cake! Peyton was very excited to be baking a cake for Daddy and was a big help! After breakfast and some fun play time with Daddy, we packed-up the car to celebrate with Grandpa Todd, Grandpa Sanders and the rest of the Todd/Sanders family.

When we arrived, Grandpa Todd had started making the homemade ice cream - yum! Of course, Peyton needed to help. I did manage to get a picture with Grandpa Todd though neither one of them were paying a bit of attention! After a tasty lunch, Peyton had a great time playing with Wyatt & Whitney outside with chalk, running through the sprinkler and just in general running around - Peyton loves trying to keep up with the big kids! Luckily, Whitney wore Peyton out so she slept the entire way home!

Happy Father's Day to all of the wonderful men in our lives!!!
