Weekly Happenings - 6/13 - 6/19

1.  On Monday, we treated the kids to tickets to the Royals.  But this time, we took them to the Crown Club seats and they were amazed!!  Our night started out great when we found our Royals brick - our little piece of Kauffman Stadium!  Then we got inside and had a super yummy dinner where we were oblivious to the downpour that was going on outside!  Lucky for us, the rain cleared before game time!  We stayed the whole game and Peyton found a new "favorite" player!  Wit Merrifield is a rookie up playing 2nd base and he is on fire!  The kids had fun cheering him (and all of the players) from the FRONT ROW!  They also had fun with the endless supply of food available to them and really appreciated the short walk to our car after the game!  It was a late night for the kids but so very memorable!!!

2.  On Saturday, we were so happy to have Grandma & Grandpa Todd and Grammy & Grandpa join us for an early Father's Day celebration lunch before Garrison's t-ball game!  Blue Moose is always a fan favorite and it was great to have everyone together!  After lunch, we had time to spend time at our house playing a few games and building with blocks before it was time for G-man to play ball!  He was excited to have quite a cheering section at his game!

3.  Sunday we celebrated Daddy!!  The kids could hardly wait to give him his gifts that they had picked out and made for him, both delivering their gifts within seconds of every waking up!  I can't say that i blame them, Daddy is amazing and we are beyond blessed that he is ours!  After a relaxing morning, we went to First Watch for breakfast/brunch where we were able to re-create our Father's Day picture from 3 years ago!  The kids have certainly grown in that time!!  After brunch, we treated Daddy to a Day at the K!  Our tickets were not near as close but we had a great (albeit hot) day playing in the outfield, getting balloons and face paint, a few treats and a winning game!  We only made it to the bottom of the 8th but since the game went 13 innings, we were glad we left and were able to enjoy the end of the game from our air conditioned house!

4.  Garrison's soccer pictures FINALLY came in - here is our 2nd season soccer star with his team!!

Weekly Happenings - 6/6 - 6/12

1.  Peyton is still loving Y-Camp this summer and has made several new friends!  She has also managed to come home each week with at least a "Camper of the Day" award but twice earned "Camper of the Week" from her counselor, Ms. Kelly!  She hasn't really been able to tell us why she earned her awards :) but we are proud of her none the less!!

2.  This week I had a work trip to San Carlos.  Unfortunately Chad wasn't able to join me this time around since Garrison had a t-ball game on Saturday.  Here's a few of the people I traveled with for the week after a long day of meetings with our business partners!

3.  Saturday was my birthday and it was a GREAT day!  Chad helped the kids spoil me for my birthday and the day started off with yummy breakfast from The Egg & I!  Early in the afternoon, Garrison had a (hot!) t-ball game - I think Garrison gets silly bugs every time he puts on his t-ball uniform - he is a ham!  It was a great day and we were excited that Grammy & Grandpa came to the game, too!

4.  On Saturday night, Chad & I got away for a date night on the Plaza where we had dinner at The Melting Pot with our friends Paul & Sue from Des Moines.  The dinner was fabulous, something I had been wanting to enjoy for a while, and the company was even better!  We had such a fun evening out!

5.  On Sunday, Chad had a golf tournament but my birthday celebrations continued with lunch at the pool with the kids & Grammy & Grandpa topped off with chocolate pie - yummy!!

6.  Lil' Angels Photography did it again and captured some great pictures of our Royals fans!!

Weekly Happenings - 5/30 - 6/5

1.  On Monday, one of our friends from work came over to learn how to bake!  Silvia, who is from China and has lived in Japan, has never had an oven before and wanted to learn how to bake.  Lucky for her, we are BIG bakers in our family and the kids had a blast spending the afternoon in the kitchen!!  We made strawberry & coconut bread and Butterfinger chip cookies.  Yummy!!!

2.  We celebrated our 14th anniversary on Wednesday and although it was a bit of a non-traditional way to celebrate, we ordered pizza and spent a family night at the pool, and it was fabulous!!  The last 14 years have gone by so incredibly fast but I can't imagine living our crazy life with anyone else!

3.  We continued our time at the pool on Friday with dinner and swimming for the evening.  Perfect cap to the week!

4.  Peyton got to have an impromptu sleepover with her BFF Victoria on Friday night.  They had an awesome time swimming and having ice cream before bed!

5.  On Saturday we spent some time picking up around the house and Peyton asked if she could organize Garrison's books.  This project started by taking all of the books off his shelf to start over completely!

6.  Also on Saturday, Chad & I worked on cleaning out the garage while the kids had a great time playing outside!  Peyton wasn't feeling the best so she stuck with bubbles but Garrison drug the sprinkler out and had an absolute ball!!  He is a boy of summer for sure!

7.  Garrison had his 2nd t-ball game on Saturday afternoon and Chad got to coach this time as he was out of town for the 1st game.  Garrison was super pumped to have his Daddy lead the team and Chad did a great job keeping the boys in line and focused on the game!  Since Peyton wasn't feeling hot and it was warm, she stayed home with Grammy and chilled out while Grandpa Arthur, and Grandma & Grandpa Todd joined us at the game.  I brought my "big girl" camera and got a couple of great shots of Garrison in the game.  So fun to see him learning the sport and getting better with each game!!

8.  Chad mowed the yard on Sunday morning and when he was done, Garrison found a Frisbee and wanted to learn how to throw it.  In the first 30 minutes he quickly learned to throw and catch with alligator arms.  So fun to watch the boys play!

9.  Garrison went to a birthday party for his friends Harlow & Zoey.  He was the only boy (other than a brother of one of the girls) in attendance but he owned it and had a great time!!  Garrison has been at school with these girls since they were all 12 weeks old so they are almost like sisters! :)

10.  We installed landscaping lighting this weekend and it is gorgeous!  I've wanted it for a couple of years but we finally got around to picking lights out and getting them in the ground - woo hoo!!!
