15-Month Check-up
Monday was Peyton's 15 month check-up and she is doing great! Peyton weighed-in at 21 lbs 11 ounces (40%) and is now 30 3/4" tall (50%). I'm not sure of her head measurement but she is in the 25-30%. We had three shots at this appointment and although she cried as she was getting the shots as soon as the nurse was done and we could give her lots of hugs she dried her tears right up! The Dr. said she was doing great and hopefully we don't have to go back until her 18 month appointment. And the bonus news was that after her shots at her 18 month appointment we won't have any more shots until she is 5 years old - whoo hooo!!!!
What's a Golf Show??
Well, Peyton may still be asking that question after last weekend but Daddy and both Grandpas sure had fun at the golf show last weekend! The weather has been so terrible this winter that I think everyone was ready to check-out the new equipment and see what all of the local and regional courses had to offer. While the guys went to the golf show, Grammy, Peyton & I hung around the house and when Peyton got up from her nap we snuck-in a shopping trip to the Great Mall! I'm not sure who had more fun, the boys or the girls, but a fun afternoon was had by all!
Whee, Grandpa, do it again!
But Grammy, I want the bear to come off of the page, why is he attached??
Peyton riding her new rocking horse - thanks Grandpa & Grandma Todd - although she wasn't quite so sure about it at first she warmed up to Henry the Horse!
You can't catch me Mommy (as she runs away from me with Grammy's phone)...

Our Little Monkey
Peyton has always liked to climb on things but now that she is getting stronger she is learning how to climb on more things. Yesterday she started pulling herself up onto one of our dining room chairs and tonight she did this about 5 or 6 times while she was having her snack (sitting in the chair like a big girl). Wow - she is getting strong! She has also found that if she uses her chair in the basement that she can crawl up and over the arm rest of the loveseat where she can then snuggle back in to the soft couch to watch a little TV!
Giggle Button
Earlier tonight Peyton & Daddy were playing and Daddy touched the middle of her back and she started giggling like crazy! Then every time either one of us touched the middle of her back all night she giggled and giggled! So now, Peyton has her very own "giggle button"!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Friday was Peyton's first school Valentine's party! Grammy & Grandpa came up to help me out with some things around the house (thank you!) so Grammy joined me at Peyton's school for the party. When we first got there Peyton was very excited to see us! The first event was for Peyton and her classmates to dance to the Dinosaur song - CUTE! They also played the pick-up the hearts game and then it was time for snack. They had fresh fruit parfaits and Peyton loved it since they included blueberries & strawberries - always fan favorites!

Then since Grammy & Grandpa were in town we invited the Mayberry's out to dinner. Peyton & Evan had a "double date" with Grammy & Grandpa while us parents had an AWESOME dinner at Trezo Vino - yum! It was so nice to have a romantic night out.

Are you ready for some football???
Last Sunday was the Superbowl and to celebrate the Mayberry’s came over to watch the big game! We had a delicious steak dinner and lots of tasty snacks, all of which were a prelude to Marla’s famous chocolate chip cookies – yum! We had a great time and since the kiddos were pretty good at playing by themselves, all of us parents got to catch most of the game. Peyton & Evan went down around 8 and we all had a chance to visit until it was time for them to go home – have I mentioned that we will miss the Mayberry’s when the move to Iowa?!?!
Ms. Marla - can I help make the cookies??
Pack ‘n’ Play Fun – Since Evan slept over on Sunday night (or at least the beginning of his night) we had the Pack ‘n’ Play set-up in our room. For some reason on Monday morning after I left, Peyton wanted to get into the PNP so Chad put her in there. She apparently danced around, would fall down, get back up again and continuously walk around in circles! I thought it was kind of odd when Chad told me of her new found entertainment but sure enough, when we all got home on Monday night and were changing our clothes she wanted back in the PNP! So, at least for now, every morning after I get Peyton ready and she tells Daddy & Apollo good morning, she gets into the PNP to have her morning snack and catch the end of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Learning, Learning, Learning – Peyton seems to learn something new every day. On Tuesday her sheet from school said that she learned about the Wheels on the Bus and If You’re Happy and You Know It songs. Sure enough, I started signing the Wheels on the Bus go Round & Round and Peyton is sitting in front of me doing all of the motions along with me – wow! After we were done with that song we moved on to If You’re Happy and You Know It and she clapped her hands and stomped her feet! Peyton has also mastered the two shape sorters we have at the house and can now get all shapes in through their designated holes – sometimes she still likes to cheat and just take the lid off though too ;). Lately, Peyton has started playing by herself more and more. Now, most of the time she still wants us in the room with her, but she can get so engrossed in putting a puzzle together, playing with her ball popper, reading her books or many of her other toys. It is so fun to watch her concentrating so hard.
Animals – Peyton loves her books of animals and will bring her big encyclopedia of animals book over to us to read all the time! She usually turns the pages while we name off the animals. Sometimes we make a sound along with the animal and sometimes just describe something unique about the animal – I guess I have said “long neck” too many times while looking at the giraffe picture since when I was reading the book with her earlier this week she pointed at the picture and said “neck”!

Peyton's First Haircut!!!
Today was Peyton's first hair cut! Her hair wasn't really "long" but really needed to be shaped-up a bit and her "bangs" were a little long. We made an appointment at a fun kids salon, Shear Madness and Peyton did pretty well! They were super nice and the place was awesome. Peyton loved the girl combing her hair out! She sat very still for Sarah and was quite the beauty when she was done (ok, ok, she was beautiful beforehand but her hair does little better!).
A quick before shot -
Whee....jump, jump, jump
Today we visited Lexington and had a chance to visit with Grandma & Grandpa Todd, Nana & Papa, Aunt April, Wyatt, Whitney and Great Aunt Linda!
Peyton entertained everyone with her non-stop action today! And in case you were wondering what the title of this blog is all about, check-out the second pic below. Miss Whitney thinks it is fun to pick-up her "baby" cousin Peyton (why by the way only weighs 10 lbs less than her even though she is 4 years younger!) and Peyton loved it! Hilarious!
Peyton also learned how to "jump" this weekend! Well, at least Peyton's version of jumping! ;) Grandma Todd had thrown out a few pot holders for Peyton to play with and when she saw them on the floor she would bend her knees while standing on one, stand back up and then "jump" (really step) to the next dot. Too cute!!

Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes
Peyton LOVES for Daddy to sing Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes! :) Of course, she can't quite do the motions yet but thinks it is quite comical when Mommy & Daddy do the "dance" along with the song. Peyton is excellent at pointing out her eyes, nose, mouth, ears and lifting up her shirt to show us her belly (the cutest of all in my opinion)!
Also tonight Peyton was hilarious - she pushed her rocking chair back and forth across the room at least 10 times, giggling with her belly laugh - she laughs the hardest when she runs the chair into Mommy or Daddy! After a busy night of playing and after her bath Peyton snuggled up with Daddy while saying night-night and almost feel asleep! A few books later she was fast asleep!
Peyton & Evan Sitting in a Tree...
lukcily not K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
But this is a super cute story from school this morning - When Evan's parents dropped him off, Peyton immediately came over to him & was very excited to see him. Evan sat down for breakfast, and Peyton pushed one of the little chairs up beside him. Evan reached over and patted the seat of it as if he was saying, “Come sit next to me!” Peyton quickly climbed into the seat next to him! Can you say adorable?!?!

Peyton's Expanding Vocabulary
Since Peyton has started using more and more words I thought it might be a good idea to compile a list of her ever growing vocabulary!
Peyton now has repeatedly said - Mama, Dada, Dog, Pollo, Bana (banana), hi, bye-bye, milk, ought-oh, again, more - gosh, it seems like more but I am drawing a blank!
Her signing has also improved - Peyton now regularly signs eat, more, waves bye-bye, milk, please and help. Peyton even has been doing some motions to songs like Patty-cake Patty-Cake and the Itsy Bitsy Spider!
Too cute!!!
Peyton the Director
Peyton was absolutely hilarious tonight so I wanted to write about it before the story left my mind!
Tonight we were in the living room playing and Peyton brought over a maraca to me and gave her alligator xylophone to Daddy before then heading over to her music table to start-up the music. As soon as the music started she started waving her hands at me, at Daddy and back at the table again, as if she was directing her very own orchestra! How cute is that?!?!!
Another fun story from the day - when I picked-up Peyton from school today she only had on one shoe - what? yep, one shoe. I guess at some point in the afternoon Peyton's shoe fell off (or was taken off) of her foot and it has now disappeared in the Raccoon room!! Hopefully the case of the missing shoe can be solved tomorrow! ;)
