Weekly Happenings - 5/1 - 5/7

1.  Monday we surprised the kids with Crown Seat tickets to see the Royals play!  They were super pumped!  Of course, we found our brick just outside the entrance to the Crown Seats.  We got into the stadium early and walked around a bit, enjoyed a super yummy dinner, watched both teams warm up and then it was time for the game!  We stayed until the top of the 9th which was great and the Royals won!!  It was an amazing night!!

2.  Friday brought Cinco de Mayo and Garrison's class had a fiesta!  Love his smile in this picture!!

3.  On Friday evening, Peyton's dance group performed at another school's walk-a-thon event.  She danced really well and was excited that all of us plus Grammy & Grandpa were there to cheer her on!!

4.  Saturday brought another soccer game and this time I brought my "big girl" camera.  I was super excited to catch a couple of fun images of Garrison's play!

5.  And Sunday was a BIG day for Peyton!  Peyton had her First Communion and we were all so proud of her!  Peyton worked really hard over the last year to prepare for this blessed event!  Peyton was surrounded by her family for her big day!  After the service, everyone joined us at the house for a yummy dinner and cookie cake!!  One picture below is with one of Peyton's best friends, Fiona, who also received her First Eucharist during the ceremony!

Weekly Happenings - 4/24 - 4/30

1.  Garrison's class had a field trip to the Coterie Theater at Crown Center to see a Piggie & Elephant!  They enjoyed the show and Garrison can't wait to go back!

2.  Many of the executives I help support had to travel to Japan (I am so thankful I didn't have to go!) for a meeting so a few of us had to go into the office for the video conference starting at 9 PM.  It was a long night (ending around 1 AM) but with friends to be there with you, it is tolerable!!

3.  On Friday, Peyton came to work with me for Take your Child to Work Day!  We started the day with a kick-off session, we toured the Yellow Fan Studios where commercials & ads are made, learned about the products and services Sprint sells and then took some time to actually work! :)  Lisa offered to take Peyton out for lunch so we went to Basha for lunch and it was yummy!  We had a great afternoon where Peyton made slime and make some friends before it was time to head home.  It was so fun to spend the day with Peyton!!

4.  On Friday, we decided to take our normal "Friday night out" action up a notch and we went to Dave & Buster's.  The kids LOVED it (and so did the parents).  We had a great time and can't wait to go back!!

5.  Saturday was a bit of a rainout but t-ball practice went on.  Coach Todd hosted a short t-ball meeting / practice at our house where the boys learned some basics, practiced running the bases and met all of their teammates.

6.  Later on Saturday, Peyton had a campout (or camp in as it turned out) at Isabella's house.  The girls are here after they put on a play for us - they had a great time!!

7.  Peyton's class is learning about economics and they are setting up a market where each child will make 30 of something to sell to his/her classmates.  The kids have also be "earning" money of the last week or two to buy items from their classmates.  Peyton chose to make stress balls - she figured out what she wanted to make, what she needed to make the product and diligently worked to have everything ready for her store, we were so proud of her!!

Weekly Happenings - 4/17 - 4/23

1.  On Wednesday, Peyton & I stopped by Chick Fil A to pick-up dinner and happened into their anniversary celebration so Peyton got to have her face painted!  She was so excited!!

2.  Saturday was a bit chilly but Garrison's soccer team played on!  Garrison was excited to be cheered on by his parents and both sets of grandparents!

3.  On Saturday afternoon, both kids had friends over (Peyton's friend Claire spent the night, too) for some fun!  Peyton talked the boys into letting her paint their faces.  Not sure what she designed for Reid but she turned Garrison into a dog - all were happy so all is well!!

4.  On Sunday we all went different directions!  Daddy had a golf tournament which was his first of the season - he played well and had fun!  Grammy & Grandpa came back up and took Garrison to his soccer match.  Peyton & I went to the soccer match for the first bit and I got to help Garrison warm up before his game (in heels!) before we were off to see Snow White as performed by the ballet company at her dance studio!  The ballet was great and we had a fun afternoon!

5.  I'm honestly not sure if this picture belongs here :) but didn't want to lose it.  Here is Coach Todd talking to his 15 t-ball players.  They range in ages from 4-almost 6 so holding all of their attention can be a challenge but they look like they are "all in"!!

Weekly Happenings - 4/10 - 4/16

1.  On Monday, I was lucky enough to score a ticket to Opening Day for the Royals!  Work prevented me from staying the whole game but it was fun to attend Opening Day with one of my friend (and co-worker) Lisa!

2.  On Thursday, Garrison had his Spring Party and I was lucky enough to have a chance to join him! The Easter Bunny stopped by, the kids had lots of yummy treats and an egg hunt!  So fun!!

3.  Saturday brought a soccer match for Garrison and he had an awesome game!!!  Garrison played his heart out and had so much fun out on the pitch with his teammates.  Grammy & Grandpa joined the fun by coming to the game, too!

4.  After Garrison's soccer match we were planning to go to Grammy & Grandpa's to celebrate Easter with Uncle Mark and Aunt Mary but since they weren't able to make it, Grammy & Grandpa brought Easter to us!  We had a yummy meal at Olive Garden, the kids loved getting their Easter Baskets and hunting Easter Eggs a few times with Grammy & Grandpa!  We had a fun and relaxing afternoon together!

5.  Later on Saturday, Peyton had a dance performance at a local high school with her TiniTainer group!  Earlier in the day at their rehearsal she also earned the "Big Heart" award for her dedication during the practice and for helping one of her fellow dancers when they were struggling with a step.  So proud of our dancer!!

6.  Easter came on Sunday morning and it was a great morning!  The kids were up early enough to check-out their Easter baskets from the Easter Bunny & from us before it was time to get ready for church.  We went to early mass and it was crowded but luckily we were there early enough to sit inside the sanctuary.  The kids were great at mass, obliged a family picture when we got home and then were off to hunt the Easter Eggs the Easter Bunny had hid for them in our yard!  It was a bit chilly but fun that they were able to hunt eggs outside!

7.  Next up we were off to Nana & Papa's to celebrate Easter with Grandma & Grandpa Todd and the rest of the family.  We arrived in time to visit a bit before lunch and then the big Easter Egg hunt commenced.  Garrison showed off his Pokemon cards and Peyton had a blast taking care of her little 3rd cousins.  We had a great visit and also stopped by Grandma & Grandpa's house to play a bit more with Whitney before it was time to head home and get ready for the week.
