Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Our little lucky charm!

We got a quick sneak peek at Spring so we enjoyed lots of time outside - Peyton loved jumping between the shapes that Daddy drew for her on the driveway.

Then while Daddy ran some errands Peyton & I were planning on making some chocolate chip cookies. We got started but then Peyton decided she was all done. She went into the front room and was quiet so I took a sneak peek - she was sitting in the chair like such a big girl reading her book. This was a first for Peyton - she is becoming more independent every day!!!

Bathtime Fun

Peyton has now learned how to hold her washcloth in front of her eyes when we wash her hair which makes the whole bathtime experience much more enjoyable for EVERYONE! But, since she is no longer upset after having her hair washed she is less anxious to get out of the bath and likes to keep playing even when it is time to start getting dried off. Earlier this week we had told her it was time to get out of the bathtub an Chad let the water out. And there she sat, in a completely empty tub, and asked, "Where did my water go?" Seems like an innocent enough question, right? Ok, Daddy responds with, "It went down the drain, to a river to the BIG ocean." Ok, one, right?? Um, NO!!!!

P: "Where did my water go?"
D: "It went down the drain, to a river to the BIG ocean."
Repeat this sequence at least 10 times....

P: "Where did my water go?"
D: "The aliens took it!!"
P: "Where did my water go?"

I'll leave it at that as I'm sure you are getting the point and although reading this may not seem funny at the time it was hilarious - I was in tears! Our little girl is definitely inquisitive and until she is satisfied she will not stop asking!

Sharing Goldfish

Last night Peyton was having some Goldfish as a snack while we were getting dinner ready - the following conversation transpired...

Daddy: Peyton, can Daddy have some Goldfish?
Peyton: No
Daddy gives a look of "are you sure you want to tell Daddy no?"
Peyton: Sure (so Daddy reaches down to take one of Peyton's Goldfish)
Peyton instead pulls her Goldfish away and walks over to the cabinet where the Goldfish are stored and then says, "Goldfish in here Daddy"

Guess she decided Daddy could have some Goldfish, just none of hers!

Our Little Superhero

This week is spirit week at school and today is Super Hero/Princess day - Peyton decided to wear her Super Girl costume - I thought she looked pretty darn adorable (and strong ;) !!!)

Visit to see Grandma & Papa Todd

On Sunday we headed to Lexington to visit the Todd family. We had a chance to catch-up with Grandma & Papa, Nana & Papa, Uncle Landen, Aunt April, Wyatt & Whitney, Uncle Clint and Christy. Peyton of course enjoyed seeing everyone but Whitney is her favorite playmate these days! She was so excited to play dress-up with her and asked her to dance with her (see below) - SO CUTE! Papa even took the kids outside for a quick ride on the tire swing but all were happy to return to the warm house after they each had a turn! It got cold FAST on Sunday!

First Trip to the Zoo in 2011

On Saturday it was still pretty nice weather and Daddy had some things to do in the morning so Peyton & I decided to take a trip over to the zoo! We had such a GREAT time - Peyton's favorites were the carousel (we rode it 3 times!), Nakita (the polar bear) and the tigers. I had the stroller but most of the time Peyton wanted to walk on her own, such a big girl! Here are a few pics -

Grammy & Grandma Mintun Visit!

Last Friday, Grammy & Grandma decided to get out of Clinton for the day and come and visit us! After helping me with a few things that needed to be done at the house Grammy & Grandma went and picked-up Peyton at school at the end of the day. They had a beautiful day to visit and had a blast playing outside with Peyton. They took a couple of short walks around the block (including one round where Grandma & Peyton rode in the wagon pulled by Grammy - that was a sight to be seen!!!). Grandma also got to see Peyton's playset - I think she was a little amazed at how busy Peyton is when she plays, especially outside!! :) Here are a few pics from their visit -

And Peyton has started enjoying wearing her back packs around the basement - here I caught her with TWO on!

Baby Todd 2 Update

Baby Todd 2 is progressing along - 17.5 weeks now! BT2 is about 5" long and weights about as much as a turnip (these comparisons crack me up!). Enjoy the updated baby pics and belly pics below! :)

Baby at about 15 weeks -

And Momma at about 16 weeks -

Visit to Clinton

Last weekend Peyton & I headed down to Clinton to check on Grandma Mintun and Grammy & Papa while Daddy stayed back and painted Peyton's bathroom. Daddy got a lot done and the bathroom looks GREAT!!! While we were in Clinton we also enjoyed a visit with Great Uncle Mark and cousin Joe. Peyton is quite smitten with Uncle Mark (Joe likes to say its because 2 year olds like to play with other 2 year olds! ;)) but Uncle Mark was quick to call for reinforcements when Peyton ran to the potty and told him she needed to poopy! We enjoyed a relaxing visit with lots of playing and just good ol' visiting! :) Peyton can get Grammy & Papa to do about anything for her (as evidenced by the pics below - Grammy wearing a tutu on her head and Papa giving a horsey ride) - grandparents do love to spoil! Thanks for a great visit!!

Stories Too Funny Not to Share

About a week ago while we were eating at a restaurant Peyton decided she needed to go potty and chose Daddy to take her. This time she actually had to go and did her business. When she was done Daddy needed to potty too so he asked her to stand at the back of the stall while he went potty (luckily she chose the "big" potty (handicapped stall) so they had extra room!). Anyway, when Daddy started to potty Peyton started clapping and saying, "Yay, Daddy Potty!!!" Yes, in the public restroom - hilarious!!! :)

Last night most food just wasn't sounding good to me so I asked if we could have Five Guys Burgers & Fries for dinner - YUM! Peyton was excited she didn't have to go straight home (the girl LOVES to be on the go). Anyway, when we got our food and were driving home to have dinner Peyton informed us she didn't want to eat at her house so Daddy asked her - "where do you want to eat then?" And her response..."at that house" (while pointing at a random house at about 127th & Blackbob. Luckily when we explained we didn't know he people at that houe she accepted that we would eat at our own house. How awkward would that have been - Hello, we are the Todd's and our 2-year-old would like to eat our dinner at your house tonight! :)
