Weekly Happenings - 5/30 - 6/4

1.  Garrison had his last swim lesson for the season on Wednesday!  He has learned so much and is getting much stronger in the pool.  Here he is not so patiently waiting in line for his turn to dive.  But don't worry, he will be back in the pool in the fall after taking the summer off!

2.  Thursday was a big day for Chad & I - it was our 15th wedding anniversary!  The last 15 years have been an amazing journey so far and I can't wait to see what the next years bring for us.  And needless to say, I am spoiled - Chad brought this beautiful bouquet of a dozen roses home to celebrate.  I can't imagine going through life with anyone else and count myself lucky to call him my husband!!

3.  Last weekend I downloaded Snapchat - Peyton & I have been having some fun with the new app!

4.  On Saturday we had a fun day!  Grammy & Grandpa have been in Alaska for the last week and a half but were back in town and came up to see us on Saturday!  The kids barely let them get a word in edgewise to tell us about their trip!  Before long it was time to go to lunch at Nick & Jake's and then off to Garrison's t-ball game!  Garrison had a great game and Coach Todd kept all the boys on track!  Another great afternoon at the ballpark watching my favorite baseball player!

Weekly Happenings - 5/22 - 5/29

1.  Peyton had dress rehearsals and pictures for both of her ballet & tap classes on Monday & Tuesday!  She looked beautiful for both rehearsals and she did great!

2.  Peyton & Garrison started their amazing summer on Monday with their nanny, Madison!  Their week was very busy with 2 trips to Deanna Rose (where Garrison won an award for catching the smallest fish on one visit), two trips to the pool, a trip to the movies and several trips to the park!

3.  On Friday evening, our friends from Iowa arrived and stayed the night on their way to their family campout for the weekend.  We were excited to have the Mayberrys with us, even if only for one night!  The kids got to enjoy s'mores and play time while the adults enjoyed a few adult beverages before calling it a night!

4.  On Saturday morning we packed up the car and drove downtown for our weekend of fun!  We started with lunch at Fritz's and we shopped a bit at Crown Center before heading over to Union Station where we went to Science City!  The kids LOVED Science City, especially the wind tunnel where they got to feel what it was like in a tornado with 75+ MPH winds!  Peyton powered a light bulb by riding a bike, Garrison dug for dinosaur bones, they rode a zip-line and a potato chip climbing structure to name a few!  We were all pretty exhausted so we got a few sweet snacks and relaxed for a bit before heading back to Crown Center then off to Jack Stack for some yummy BBQ!  Next up was check-in time at the hotel downtown.  We were on the 20th floor which the kids thought was amazing!!!  On Sunday we were up fairly early and took a ride on the street car down to the City Market!  We started with brunch at The Farmhouse which was a bit out of the kids' comfort zone but very yummy and then we walked around the farmer's market for an hour or so before heading back to the hotel.  Peyton then had rehearsal on stage at the Music Hall before we grabbed a late lunch at the Power & Light District and then it was go time!  Peyton did a fantastic job at her recital!  We even made her costume change without any incident and she was ready for her 2nd dance with plenty of time!  We left the recital at intermission, enjoyed a yummy late night dinner in our room and then went up to the 22nd floor to watch the fireworks over Union Station!  It was the end to a great and very busy day!!

Weekly Happenings - 5/15 - 5/21

1.  Garrison had his final performance as part of Shining Stars on Monday evening - his group performed "She Lost Her Hat" and Garrison was one of the lead roles!  Garrison performed so well and was so proud at the end of the show!  Shining Stars has been great for Garrison and his confidence!!

2.  Thursday was the BIG day for Garrison - his Pre-K Graduation!!  Garrison started at All Around Child when he was 12 weeks old!  His class performed "Try Everything" from Zootopia before all of the graduates received their certificate!  We are so proud of Garrison and can't wait to see what next year brings for him as he begins Kindergarten!!

Garrison is here with his best friend Zach during their performance - so fun!!

Garrison is here with all of his girlfriends from his class (he is quite a ladies man!) - Hadley, Devyn, Tess and Avery!

3.  On Friday, Garrison had his last day at All Around Child!  Whew!  So hard to believe our family has been going to the school for the last 7 years every day - pretty sure our cars may return on auto pilot a few times!!  Garrison brought donuts in for his class since he won't be there for his birthday!  The two pictures below are with his two favorite teachers - Ms. Beth and Ms. Maria!  Both have been huge parts of his life and we will all miss them dearly!!

4.  Peyton had a half day on Friday so we picked both kids up early and had a little fun at Scheels - Peyton chose to ride the ferris wheel by herself and Garrison wanted to bowl!

5.  Garrison had a BIG weekend - two soccer matches and a t-ball game!  On Saturday, Garrison had a soccer match at 9:20 and t-ball at 10:30 so he was about worn out by the time we got to lunch.  Luckily Grammy & Grandpa were up for the games and we showed them all about Dave & Buster's!  It is a bit overwhelming but oh so fun!!  We had a great time with lunch and playing lots of games before the kids went home with Grammy & Grandpa for the night!  It was a quick trip and they returned by the next morning since the kids & I had plans to go to see Smurfs with the school PTA.  After the movie, Garrison had his last soccer match of the season!  It has been so wonderful to watch Garrison's skill develop over the last 3 seasons of soccer - can't wait to see him continue to develop!  After the match, Grammy & Grandpa joined us for dinner at Dickey's before heading home after a fun weekend!!  (Check-out Garrison in the catcher's gear - love it!!!)
