Weekly Happenings - 2/27 - 3/5

1.  This week was Spirit Week at Garrison's school - one day was "fun sock" day and another was "wear your favorite hat" day - Garrison of course had a ton of fun with his spirit week!

2.  At Peyton's Girl Scout meeting this month we visited the high school's Robotics team where they showed the girls the robot they have built and gave them a tour of their robotics lab.  We even had two Girl Scouts lead the presentation who are on the team - what an amazing example for our young ladies!

3.  On Friday, the kids and I went down to visit Grammy & Grandpa and to drop Apollo off for his vacation.  We had a great time visiting and relaxing a bit.  It was a nice day so Grandpa decided to clean a few windows - the kids saw a ladder and wanted to join in so Grandpa got out of most of his job!  Peyton helped Grammy make a yummy taco salad lunch and after some more play time outside (and a short nap for me :)), we were on our way back home to get ready for our vacation!

Weekly Happenings - 2/20 - 2/26

1.  This week was watch week at Peyton's dance studio so we had the chance to go into class and watch all that she has been learning!  Below are just a couple of pictures from ballet & tap.  It is amazing how far she has come since starting dance 1.5 years ago!  She loves going to class and is excited to be learning her routines for the recital in May!

2.  On Saturday, Wyatt had a soccer match at the fields close to our house so Grandma & Grandpa Todd were up to watch him play.  Garrison & Daddy went to the game, too, while Peyton was at dance.  After the game we all enjoyed lunch at Blue Moose and Wyatt stayed at our house for the afternoon waiting for his next game.  Garrison LOVED having his big cousin to play with for the afternoon!

3.  Our busy Saturday continued with World Thinking Day with the Girl Scouts!  Peyton's troop choose Spain and they learned about the country to prepare for their presentation to other Girl Scouts.  Peyton even ran into her best friend, Victoria, who's troop was also presenting for the event.  Such a great way for the girls to learn about the countries around the world!

4.  Saturday evening was a big night for Peyton (and her Daddy!) - the Daddy Daughter Dance!  This year's theme was 50's.  Peyton invited several of her friends to join her and her Daddy for dinner before the dance at Nick & Jake's - they had 18 for dinner so it was quite a crowd!  After dinner, the group went to the dance where they enjoyed snacks, took lots of pictures and of course, danced!  They had an amazing time!!

5.  Since Wyatt was playing soccer up near our house, Aunt April was at our house when it was time to get ready for the dance.  Peyton asked her if she would fix her hair and of course it turned out amazingly well - much better than what I could have managed to pull off!  Thanks Aunt April!

6.  While the Daddy & Daughter pairs were at dinner and the dance, the Moms and and brothers came to our house for pizza and fun.  We had a super night until about 8 when Garrison and his friend Will rounded a corner at the same time and bonked heads.  Will took the brunt of it and needed to go to urgent care for a few stitches so Claire got to have an impromptu sleepover - you can see the girls were not at all disappointed!

7.  On Sunday we went to see Grandma & Grandpa Todd and Nana & Papa to deliver Girl Scout cookies.  Since the weather was nice, Grandpa took the kids for a quick fishing trip at a nearby pond. Garrison caught a fish but wasn't too keen on touching it :).  They had fun!  We got back in time to watch Wyatt's championship game for the tournament and his team won!  The kids had fun seeing Wyatt play!

8.  Not much to say about this picture other than - two peas in a pod!

Weekly Happenings - 2/13 - 2/19

1.  When I was at school this week for Peyton's conference (where we found out Peyton is having a GREAT year), I found this beauty.  Here is Peyton's family portrait - love it!

2.  On Tuesday it was Valentine's Day and it was time for Garrison's party!  It was amazing to walk into his classroom, all decorated with balloons and see his smiling face.  I mean, what could possibly go wrong with 9 pre-K kiddos hopped up on sugar?!

3.  Garrison's school recently completed a project where they decorated locks and then locked them on a fence designed to spell LOVE.  What a fun project - Garrison was very proud of his lock!

4.  Saturday was a fun day!  Grammy & Grandpa came up for lunch and for Grandpa & Daddy to go to the golf show.  The kids decided they weren't done having fun with Grammy & Grandpa so they went home with them for the rest of the weekend since there was no school scheduled for Monday!  They had a great time having fun at the park (gorgeous weather for February), having a picnic, going to church and visiting the bunnies at Ms. Kelly's house.  Peyton LOVES Grammy's chicken pot pie so she asked if she could make a couple to put in the freezer - she did nearly all of the work herself and was so proud of her final product.  And we enjoyed one of the pot pies the following week - it was amazing!!  They even made muffins for National Muffin Day - yummy!
