100th Post!

I can't believe it - this is my 100th post.  My how time flies!!

Peyton continues to do great, though she is still fighting a nasty cough.  The Dr.'s office continues to reassure me that she is just going to have to wait it out and there isn't anything we can do for her other than take her into the steam shower every night before bed.  Hopefully it will be gone soon!

We had a GREAT Memorial Day weekend.  Since I had some time off between jobs Chad took off Friday with me and we played a round of golf down at Sycamore Ridge.  We had a blast and I remembered why I love the game so much!  It was such a relaxing time on a very beautiful day.  After the round we went by and grabbed Apollo and then went to pick-up Peyton for the weekend.  Friday evening we headed to Grammy & Grandpa's house to kick-off the holiday weekend.  We started Saturday by playing another round of golf with my Dad - too fun!  Grammy took care of Peyton during our golf game and had a great time keeping her entertained!  Then on Sunday we headed to the lake to visit Grandma & Grandpa Todd.  After a relaxing day at the lake hanging out and Chad got to play another round of golf on Monday while Peyton & I hung-out with Grammy.  After a very exciting holiday weekend, Peyton took a long nap on the way home and was ready for the week!!

This week was also an exciting time for me.  I started a new job on Tuesday which seems a little crazy since I spent the last 7 years of my life working at Sprint.  I'm really excited for the new opportunity and am learning tons every day!

Otherwise, not a lot is new at the Todd household.  Peyton continues to be a great eater and is growing like crazy!  She keeps trying to get her knees up under her to try to crawl but still gets wherever she wants to go by rolling around.  She is so amazing to watch - we are so lucky!!!

A few new pics...

Enjoying the warm day outside today -
YEAH - I love to swing!!!
Here's Peyton starting to learn how to tuck her knee under her body.  She can't crawl yet but she is getting very good at getting where she wants to go by scooting & rolling around! :)
And here's a pic from my spa trip last weekend, we had a great time!!

Happy 6 Month Birthday!!!

Wow - where have the last 6 months gone??  Chad & I keep talking about how we thought time used to go by fast but never as fast as the last 6 months!!!!

Peyton had her 6 month check-up today and did GREAT!  She weighed in at 15 lbs. 9 oz. and was 25 1/2" long (both around the 40th percentile).  I don't remember her head circumference but it was in the 25th percentile.  Everything checked out a-okay and she even did great for her shots (only looking a little scared when she was getting the shots but calmed down as soon as Mommy picked her up).  She took a long nap on the way home after the appointment and was definitely ready for bed tonight.  She had a big day!

Peyton also had a new first today - her first "incident" at daycare. :P  She's perfectly fine but fell forward when sitting on her own and got a little bit of a cut just inside her mouth.  Poor thing!  The teachers at school did a great job of helping stop the little bit of bleeding she had and she was calm and happy again soon!

Since my last post a lot has happened.  Last Thursday night Peyton woke-up with a croup type cough and ended-up throwing-up 4 times, poor little girl.  After a call to the nurse line we decided to take her in to urgent care to have her checked-out.  She did in fact have croup so they gave her some medicine and ever since then she has been much better.  She still has some congestion and a little cough but she is a ton better!

Since Peyton was feeling better by Saturday morning I got to go on my planned spa trip with my girlfriends from college - YEAH!  Although I was looking forward to the trip I was a little nervous about being away from my baby girl.  Luckily, she was in her Daddy's hands and had a great time while I was away.  Peyton got to spend some quality time with Daddy and even got to take a trip to visit Grandma & Grandpa Todd and the rest of Daddy's family.  From what I hear they had a great time and Peyton showed off many of her tricks as entertainment!  I was super excited to get home to see Peyton, as well as Chad & Apollo, but was thankful for the time with my friends as well!!!

Tuesday was my lat day at Sprint - still seems very weird since I have spent the last 7 years working there.  I am very excited for the opportunity I have with a new, much more stable company but am sad to leave the many awesome people I have met over the last several years.  The last couple of weeks have been great meeting-up with people for lunch and my happy hour on Tuesday night - what a big change I have ahead of me!  Should be exciting!!  Grammy also came-up for a visit on Tuesday night so that Chad & I could stay a little later at my happy hour and not have to make it in time for daycare pick-up.  I think they had a great time on Tuesday night playing and visiting!  Grammy & I did some shopping today and had a great lunch sitting outside at a fun little restaurant before picking-up Peyton at daycare a little early for some play time - we had a great day!!!

I know I still need to load some new pictures and hope to do that in the next couple of days but needed to catch-up with everything that has been going on!!

Thanks to all those who actually made it to the end of this post! ;)

Finally some new pictures!!!

I had several pictures to upload so decided I'd try a slideshow - let me know what you guys think! :)

We had a GREAT Mother's Day weekend that started with Peyton (with a little help from Daddy) wishing me a Happy Mother's Day on Friday.  On Saturday we celebrated Daddy's cousin Abby's graduation followed by a Mother's Day dinner with a lot of Daddy's family!  Then on Sunday we wrapped-up our celebrations with a family dinner at Grammy & Grandpa's with a lot of Mommy's family! :)

Also, here's a pic of the beautiful Mother's Day present Peyton made for me at school:

And a new pic with Daddy!

Oops -has it really been that long??

So it has been almost a week since I have updated the blog so I guess I have some catching up to do! :)

First of all, Peyton continues to do GREAT with her eating - she tried peas for the first time this week and loved them!  She almost eats an entire container of veggies at each meal so she is progressing along.

This week we also had our first Parent-Teacher conference with Peyton.  Although I thought it was a little crazy to have this for a 5 month old it was really very helpful to have a chance to sit down with the teacher and talk about Peyton's development.  She is doing great in meeting the milestones for her age level and has impressed her teachers with her sitting and the way she eats! :)  We absolutely love our lead teacher and had a great time visiting with her.

Peyton is also doing much better with falling asleep on her own.  She has been falling asleep on her own for her naps at school for quite a while now but never seems to want to do it at home.  Of course, that may have more to do with the fact that I love rocking her than her not wanting to fall asleep but I figure it is time for her to fall asleep on her own a little more.  Last night she cried for about 5 minutes and then I picked her up and she fell right asleep.  And then tonight, I put her down drowsy but she was still pretty awake.  She turned her toy mirror on a couple of times and before we knew it she had put herself to sleep - YEAH!!!  It was so funny to watch her as she fell asleep on the video monitor - have I mentioned how great the video monitor is?!?!!

I also took an opportunity this week to go to our church's mom's group - Prince of Peace Mom's group (POP Moms).  One of Peyton's classmates mom's also also goes to POP and ironically also works at Sprint so we decided to go to the meeting together - thanks Marla for finding out the details about the meeting!  We had a great time and hopefully we start going more frequently.  This month's topic was on nutrition and I learned a ton!  Hopefully this will give me a chance to get more involved at church since the church is so large it is easy to get lost!

Today Grammy & Grandpa came-up to the city and took the chance to stop by and visit Peyton at school.  Peyton's paper today said that she had fun when they visited and enjoyed introducing them to her friends and showing them her classroom.  Peyton also surprised me when I picked her up at daycare today with a beautifully painted flower pot for Mother's Day.  I will post a picture with my next post hopefully but it is beautiful! :)

Last, but not least, this was also a very big week for me.  I have accepted a position at Burns & McDonnell and will be leaving Sprint as of the 19th.  I have been there for 7 years, which seems a little crazy all in itself.  I'm a little scared since it is a VERY big change but also VERY excited for the new opportunity.  I can't wait to see how it goes and looking forward to trying something new and different!

Sorry for the long-winded post but I had lots of updates from the week.  Hopefully next time I'll get some new pictures posted too!

Peyton the Artist

Next week is teacher appreciation week at The Goddard School and on Monday we are supposed to bring homemade cards for each of the teachers.  I can understand this a little more for the older kids but it is a little tougher "assignment" for a 5 month old (especially when Mommy isn't the most creative!).  So today we did our best at "arts and crafts" time at the Todd house and Peyton made cards for each of her 5 teachers.  Check her out below...
Otherwise, not a lot has been going on around here.  Today we spent quite a bit of time running errands and Peyton did fabulously!  She was a trooper through many stops and even snuck-in a nap between places a couple of times.  The end of the week was pretty uneventful which is almost always a good thing.  Here are a few more cute pics from the last few days.
The best of friends...
Check-out the drool.  Good thing Daddy's willing to share the remote - it is one of Peyton's favorite toys!
A pic from Grammy & Grandpa's visit last weekend.  Too bad the weather isn't as nice this weekend. :P
