First of all, Peyton continues to do GREAT with her eating - she tried peas for the first time this week and loved them! She almost eats an entire container of veggies at each meal so she is progressing along.
This week we also had our first Parent-Teacher conference with Peyton. Although I thought it was a little crazy to have this for a 5 month old it was really very helpful to have a chance to sit down with the teacher and talk about Peyton's development. She is doing great in meeting the milestones for her age level and has impressed her teachers with her sitting and the way she eats! :) We absolutely love our lead teacher and had a great time visiting with her.
Peyton is also doing much better with falling asleep on her own. She has been falling asleep on her own for her naps at school for quite a while now but never seems to want to do it at home. Of course, that may have more to do with the fact that I love rocking her than her not wanting to fall asleep but I figure it is time for her to fall asleep on her own a little more. Last night she cried for about 5 minutes and then I picked her up and she fell right asleep. And then tonight, I put her down drowsy but she was still pretty awake. She turned her toy mirror on a couple of times and before we knew it she had put herself to sleep - YEAH!!! It was so funny to watch her as she fell asleep on the video monitor - have I mentioned how great the video monitor is?!?!!
I also took an opportunity this week to go to our church's mom's group - Prince of Peace Mom's group (POP Moms). One of Peyton's classmates mom's also also goes to POP and ironically also works at Sprint so we decided to go to the meeting together - thanks Marla for finding out the details about the meeting! We had a great time and hopefully we start going more frequently. This month's topic was on nutrition and I learned a ton! Hopefully this will give me a chance to get more involved at church since the church is so large it is easy to get lost!
Today Grammy & Grandpa came-up to the city and took the chance to stop by and visit Peyton at school. Peyton's paper today said that she had fun when they visited and enjoyed introducing them to her friends and showing them her classroom. Peyton also surprised me when I picked her up at daycare today with a beautifully painted flower pot for Mother's Day. I will post a picture with my next post hopefully but it is beautiful! :)
Last, but not least, this was also a very big week for me. I have accepted a position at Burns & McDonnell and will be leaving Sprint as of the 19th. I have been there for 7 years, which seems a little crazy all in itself. I'm a little scared since it is a VERY big change but also VERY excited for the new opportunity. I can't wait to see how it goes and looking forward to trying something new and different!
Sorry for the long-winded post but I had lots of updates from the week. Hopefully next time I'll get some new pictures posted too!

Glad to hear she's eating well! And I knew you'd love the video monitor! Everyone thinks I'm crazy at first until they have one!
We enjoyed visiting Peyton at her school and meeting her teachers and classmates. We had a great time, and it gives me a visual now when I hear about events going on at school and with Peyton. Peyton was all smiles and seemed to enjoy seeing us.
We're anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Todds this evening to celebrate Amanda's first Mother's Day tomorrow!
Amanda that is great news to hear you are going to Burns and Mac. I have a co-worker that son works there and just raves about how awesome it is. I think you are really going to enjoy it and it will be a little more stable.
