Welcoming a Blessing

Sorry, Amanda is a little tired this afternoon. She had a little job to do this morning giving birth to the newest member of our family, Miss Peyton Augusta Todd. So as the new dad I am taking over for a post. Everything could not have gone better. Mom progressed through labor very quickly. From the time we checked into the hospital to be induced and the time Peyton came into the world was roughly about 11 hours. As always, Amanda overachieved and I think that Miss Peyton will be an over achiever also.

Peyton came into the world at 18.5 inches long and 6 lbs 10oz. She looks a lot like her mom even after they got all the gunk off of her :) Mom and baby are resting fine, both are sleeping very soundly. I think this maybe some of the only quiet time left for the next 20 to 30 years. Below are some of the first pictures of Peyton, one of which she will kill me for showing when she grows up. I am sure there will be many more pictures to show, but I will leave that up to Amanda to post. We will continue to get better pictures, look for more tomorrow.

It has been over 27 years since we have experienced a day like today -that was when our own little baby,
Amanda, was born. Today, she and Chad had "their" baby, Miss Peyton Augusta Todd - and Grammy and Grandpa Arthur couldn't be happier. Spending the day hanging out with the newest addition to the Chad and Amanda Todd family couldn't have been any better. Peyton is gorgeous (of course) and very, very sweet, and content. We feel very blessed that she was born healthy, and that Amanda had a relatively easy labor and delivery. God is good! Let the journey begin - it should be a spectacular ride. Thanks to Amanda and Chad for allowing us, along with the Grandparents Todd and Landen, to share in this very, very special day.
