Weekend at Home

If you have been keeping up with the blog you have probably been thinking, do the Todd's ever stay at home!?!!? Well, we don't real often but try to every now and then and this weekend was our first at home for a while. We have had a BLAST! Friday night was pretty uneventful - we hung around the house and played until Peyton's bedtime and after she was sound asleep Chad & I headed outside for a little chipping competition. Chad ended-up winning but we both had a fun time!

Saturday morning we got up early as Peyton had been asked to participate in an Infant Cognative Study at KU. Sounds pretty fancy but it was really seeing how she reacted and payed attention to a video. She did really good but since Mommy didn't realize that the room wasn't sound proof she heard me talking and got distracted and upset when she couldn't find me. Oops! It was still an interesting process - anything to further our understanding of how their little minds work! Afterwards we did some shopping and ran some errands. Peyton, as always, was quite a trooper and had a great day! We even stopped at the mall to walk around a little bit and let her take in all of the action. She always loves to look around and see what is going on around her. While at the mall we had some sushi for lunch, which I know sounds odd at the mall but it was actually quite tasty. Peyton enjoyed some of the avocado & crab form the the sushi along with her lunch fare. After running around we came back home for a relaxing evening.

This morning Peyton slept in until 7:30 - WOW! Since we have hung around home today she has gotten the chance to speed-up her crawling and practice pulling up. She is now starting to take a few steps around furniture to get what she wants. I have a feeling this is just a taste of what is to come soon! It amazes me how fast she picks things up. We took a dip in the pool this afternoon - every time we go to the pool she seems to enjoy it more. She "swam" back and forth between the two of us and floated with Daddy quite a bit. She even got her face wet a little and she seemed to like it. I can't wait until she can start jumping around in the water on her own!

I will end with a funny story from daycare - I guess on Friday Peyton and her friends Evan & Kate were playing in the soft "pit" area and were contained but a little barrier. Evan apparently crawled out of the pit to escape Kate & Peyton (who always like to pick on him and pull his hair...) so Kate & Peyton followed suit to chase him down. (The ladies do love Evan!) Anyway, once the tracked him down the girls started sucking his toes. What?? Yep, sucked his toes! From what we have learned all three of them have found that sucking each other's toes is more fun than sucking their own, nice!

What a great weekend!!!!
