1. The kids started several new activities this summer while at school. Garrison started Karate and both kids started a new program - Shining Stars. Garrison loves Karate and is learning a lot! Peyton & Garrison are trying their hands at acting with Shining Stars - we thought it would be fun for them to give theater a try and so far they both are really enjoying it!
2. On Thursday night, we drove down to Grammy & Grandpa's for the kids to have an extended weekend at their house. They started the fun first thing on Friday morning with a trip out to Grammy's friends' house for some fishing. The kids had a GREAT time catching fish with Grammy, Kelly and Sherri and as you can see they were quite successful! They also found a snakeskin and a turtle while on their visit. Later on Friday, after Grandpa got off work, they took Uncle Mark and Aunt Mary up on their invitation for an impromptu trip to the lake. Everyone had fun visiting the St. Louis Mintuns at the lake, even Apollo! The absolute highlight was swimming in the pool - from what I've heard they swam 3 or more times in the 24 hours they were there! Then the weekend was wrapped-up with going to church with Grammy & Grandpa and then surprising Daddy & I when we came back by shooting marshmallows at us through their new guns Grandpa made them. They were a hoot!
3. While the kids visited with Grammy & Grandpa, we went down to Springfield for a fun weekend! Chad was supposed to play golf but the weather had other ideas so we had other fun in our college town! Friday we started with a little shopping, a trip to Lambert's (yum!), a long stroll around the Missouri State campus - wow, so much has changed - and then dinner with our friend Courtney at Ocean Zen - yum again!! On Saturday, we got a chance to visit with Tara and her family for the morning and lunch which was super fun. After a quiet afternoon we then went to the Springfield Cardinals game against the Royals AA team - we had awesome seats (thanks Courtney!) and had a super fun evening! Sunday we slept in a little which was fantastic before heading back to get the kids.
4. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!! We had a tasty lunch to celebrate with Daddy & Grandpa Arthur and then the kids had a fun gift for Daddy when we got back home - Batman & Superman bookends - they were super excited about their gift and Daddy was excited too!!
