1. Tuesday I had the opportunity to go on another field trip with Peyton! This was a nature walk field trip on a trail that is behind Deanna Rose. I was afraid it was going to be very hot and steamy but instead it turned out to be cool and rainy! Despite the rain, the kids voted that we still go on our field trip and we had a great time! We found a toad, lots of flowers, saw a few deer and even found a fairy door in a tree on the trail. What a fun way to spend a morning!!
2. On Thursday, Peyton got a fun surprise - Grammy & Grandma Mintun came to school to pick her up for an early arrival in Clinton for the Olde Glory Days celebration! Since Garrison can't do a lot of the rides / activities yet and we weren't going to be able to make it down until late on Friday evening, Grammy & Grandpa wanted to start the fun early with Litte Miss! And fun they did have! OnThursday night, she got to ride unlimited carnival rides - bouncy house, driving the cars, carousel and she even talked Grandpa into riding the Tilt-O-Wirl with her! (Later she told us the Tilt-O-Whirl was a little scary but it was still fun.) And of course, what's a trip to the square for OGD without a pony ride or two. They wrapped-up their evening by listening to the dueling pianos and enjoying an ice cream cone & carmel apple! Whew, and that was just Thursday evening!
On Friday, they went to the rubber duck races - Peyton's ducks didn't win :( - and then went to the live duck races! Peyton & Grammy even got to race a duck and splashed the water to try and help their duck win. She didn't win but did get her very own duck call! Grandma Mintun even joined in on all of the Friday activities. They wrapped-up their day back on the square for some more carnival and pony rides!
The rest of the family got to join-in on the fun starting on Saturday with the big parade. Peyton always has such a great time at the parade and Garrison loved it this year too! They waved, stood for the flag and put their hands over their hearts, picked-up candy and Peyton even got to finish-out the parade riding on Grandpa's lap in his bank's float! After the parade, we had a quick bite to eat before it was time for big G's nap and for Grandpa & Daddy to play some golf. It was nice that for once the weather was almost perfect - sunny but not sweltering hot! While G rested, Grammy, Grandma Mintun & Peyton went to the Weiner Dog Races which Peyton thought was a hoot! Once Garrison was up and the guys returned from golf, the gang went back to the square for dinner and of course a few more rides. Garrison wasn't quite sure of the carousel but did ride in Mommy's arms. Peyton & I went down a massive and quick slide and Daddy & Peyton rode the Sizzler (Peyton was BARELY tall enough but LOVED the ride!). After an ice cream cone and a funnel cake, it was time to head home for baths and bed!
Sunday was a much more low-key day. I got to play a little golf with Chad & Grandpa which was a lot of fun, a real treat for me! The kids, Grammy & Grandma Mintun played at Grandma's house and at Grammy's before enjoying lunch and a little rest time. Mid-afternoon came and it was time for us to head home. We had a GREAT visit - so much fun!! Pics are a bit random in order and it was hard to choose but here are some of my favorites!

Looks like you and Peyton were having a good time on the field trip - such a blessing that you are able to go with her on those trips. She will remember that forever.
Olde Glory Days was a blast. We loved having Peyton for some of the time by herself so she could take in more of the events that were happening on Thursday night and Friday. She was a hoot! I think she enjoyed it all - I know we did. Everything was a lot of fun too after the rest of the family arrived in Clinton.
Family memories - priceless.
