Weekly Happenings - 3/18 - 3/24

1.  On Thursday, Peyton asked Daddy if he would get her a cherry donut & coffee for breakfast.  Since that would have been a bit difficult on a school day, he told her he would on Saturday.  At 7:30, after patiently (kind of...) waiting for everyone in the house to wake up, Peyton asked Daddy if he would make the trip to the donut & coffee shops.  How could he turn her down?   Check-out the kids enjoying their breakfast.  Peyton thought she was pretty hot stuff with her "coffee"  aka Kit Kat Hot Chocolate!

2.  Also on Saturday we had our annual POP MOMs Easter Egg Hunt.  As it was FREEZING, Garrison stayed home but Peyton & I had a blast!  A bit of a change from last year when we were wearing shorts & t-shirts to the hunt!  Peyton had fun searching for eggs and even took her picture with the Easter Bunny - and gave him a hug too!

3.  Later on Saturday afternoon, Peyton's friend Audri came over for a play date.  They enjoyed Oreos & milk, playing dress-up and in general running around giggling like crazy little girls!  Peyton is already asking when she can have her next play date with friends!

4.  On Sunday morning, bright and early, we thought we would try our hands at baking eggs instead of hard boiling them to color.  Not sure how they will taste but they were super easy to bake and Peyton liked being able to get them ready to go into the oven all on her own.  After they cooled, we got our dye cups out and started coloring. All was going well for the first 15-20 minutes...then Garrison almost fell out of the chair and grabbed onto the newspapers to break his fall at which point somehow only the orange cup spilled!  We cleaned-up quickly and got back to our egg dying working!  Both kids had fun this year dying the eggs and were proud of their finished product!

5.  Snowstorm #3 hit on Sunday - wow, we have had a lot of snow this year!  I think we probably got 6-8" of wet snow from Saturday evening through Sunday morning.

6.  A few funnies from this week:
--Peyton & I were playing Candyland and I had won the last two games (luck of the draw with a few cards).  She then told me she wanted to play by herself - ok, I get it!  Anyway, about 5 minutes later she comes into the dining room where we were sitting and I asked her if she had won.  "No, I couldn't win so I put the game away."  We then asked her, are you sure you didn't win since you were playing by yourself?  "No, I didn't win."  Hilarious!

--As Peyton was helping Daddy work in the master bathroom she noticed there was a bulb out on the light fixture.  "Daddy, I know where you can get one of those lights."  Daddy - oh really, where's that? "At Sears."  Daddy - Ok.  "I've seen it on TV."

--Daddy taught Garrison how to raise his arms and shout woo hoo - it is priceless!

Priceless stories and pics. Quite a week at the Todd's. can't wait to see Big Gs new trick. Eggs look great. Peyton is a hoot. What is she going to do when she outgrows that "wedding" dress. Geez. It is almost 30 years old but she loves it. Fun times.

You are so brave. At Grammy's house we have always dyed eggs outside. Ha ha. Looks like kids are really into it. And finally Peyton likes the Easter Bunny. I think she turned the corner with Elmo. Yea. Garrison looks like he is sure enjoying the donut. Big guy likes to eat.
