1. When I picked Peyton up from school last Thursday, this is what I found - Peyton was the official page turner, showing her class the book that was being read on the CD. She was quite proud to show me how well she could do this "job" and needless to say, I was very proud of her!

2. Late in the week, our contractors began work on our back patio by removing the deck, digging out the space and laying the forms for the stamped concrete patio to be poured. On Friday, they left the bobcat so needless to say we had to check it out - Garrison liked the scoop the best, Peyton liked climbing on the tires! Then on Saturday, our morning was filled with watching the contractors do their work - the kids were enthralled with the whole process and enjoyed their donuts while watching the work take place. They even passed on watching cartoons to watch the guys work!
3. It is so great that the kids are playing more together as Garrison starts to get a little older. Here I caught Peyton pulling Garrison around the hardwoods on his rocking horse. I think you can tell, he was having a grand ol' time!
4. On Saturday afternoon, Grammy & Grandpa came up for a visit! Peyton was excited to show them all the fun things we have been working on around the house (see below) and of course both kiddos kept them on their toes while Mommy & Daddy met with a window replacement rep that had come to visit. They colored, played with lots of toys upstairs - something that doesn't happen all that often, and had fun with the new placement of the "jumphouse" (mattress) in Peyton's room! Later that evening, Chad & I went to 801 Chophouse for a super tasty "fancy dancy" dinner - it was fantastic! - while Grammy & Grandpa treated the kiddos to Freddy's. Apparently the kids entertained most of the restaurant - Peyton took Garrison on several walks around the restaurant to "keep him happy" during the meal. So cute and what a great Big Sis!
5. On Sunday morning, Peyton stood on top of our end table box and asked me to hand her a trophy - not sure where she got this but she wanted a picture of her holding her "trophy"! She quickly proceeded to start an indoor snowball fight with the goodies inside her trophy!
6. Chad has been VERY busy with lots of home improvements! He replaced all of the face plates, light switches and light switch plates in the house - 70 of them - plus all of the door handles and locks to switch our "look" to oil-rubbed bronze. Wow, this was a big task but it makes a huge difference in the look of the house and I love it! Next up, stripping the wallpaper in our master bathroom. Not an easy process to say the least but he is making progress, with the help of his apprentice, of course! Peyton loves to spray the solution on the walls to help Daddy. Apparently she has not inherited my fear of heights!
7. This technically falls in this week's report but I'm afraid I will forget! On the way to swim lessons this week, we realized that they were cancelled for spring break. Peyton had decided not to put her swimsuit on at school so when we realized there were no lessons we told her she must have been thinking ahead. Her response? "Mommy, I'm on my game!" Hilarious!

Can't wait to see the new patio. Chad's other home improvements - switchplates, switches, fan, etc. are very nice and updating of your home. One of the first things Peyton told me when we arrived on Saturday was about pulling Garrison around on his rocky horse - too funny. We had a great time coloring and playing upstairs - until Garrison decided to get a wrestlind hold on his sister's neck and pull her hair with the other hand. All boy!
Freddy's was fun and delicious. Peyton took Garrison's hand a couple of times and "walked him around" the restaurant. There were a few older couples there who were quite entertained during their dining experience.
Can't wait to see the patio - it will be a nice addition to the back yard. I'm sure the men and machinery were spell binding.
Peyton looks sooooooo big on that ladder - where does the time go.
Her comments about being on her game are hilarious. She's a hoot for sure.
We are blessed!
