I'll be right back...

A few days after Christmas, Grandma & Papa came up for a visit. While they were here they took Peyton over to the Great Mall and from what I understand she kept them running the entire time they were there! The mall is great for winter time as it has a lot of fun play areas and is usually pretty slow, which is more Peyton's speed with crowds! I think Peyton managed to walk on most benches and up and down all of the ramps - she wore herself out! I'm betting Grandma & Papa slept well that night!!

One of Peyton's favorite games continues to be "going nigh-nigh." We found these squishy pillows when going through some things and now she loves them! Still cracks us up how she will push your head down and say "nigh-nigh" with a little bit of force if you try to "wake-up" too quickly!

Then on New Year's Eve, Grammy & Papa came-up to visit and stay with Peyton, and our friend's son Zach, so us parents could enjoy a super-tasty meal at Grunauer, a German-Austrian restaurant down in the Freight District. We weren't quite sure what to expect but we were all pleasantly thrilled with our meals - what a unique restaurant! Zach slept the whole time we were gone, a perfect gentleman! Before we left, though, he enjoyed a rousing game of ball with Grammy while Peyton showed Papa her new Mr. Potato Head! On New Years Day we enjoyed breakfast out with Grammy & Papa at First Watch and then Grammy & Papa chased Peyton around the house for the morning while Chad & I got all of our Christmas decorations taken down and put away - MUCH easier without the help of our little toddler!

And Peyton continues to LOVE her art work - here she is gluing a pretty picture together - such concentration!!

And this morning when I was getting ready I overheard the sweetest conversation between Peyton and Daddy:

P - Daddy, I be right back.
D - Where are you going, Peyton?
P - I check on Mommy!

So cute!!! Daily we just look at each other and have to chuckle at the things Peyton says! And tonight when I was getting her pajamas out she started singing her ABC's all by herself, including the ending - "now I know ABCs, next time sing with me" - she doesn't have all of her letters quite yet but we are getting close!

Tomorrow is a big day for me - starting my new job. Hopefully all goes well! :)

We are always amazed at Peyton's thought process. We had a blast staying with Peyton (and Zach, although we can't take much credit for "caring" for him, as he slept the entire time)on New Years Eve. Time went so fast - we weren't really ready for Peyton to go to bed! She was so loving though when she woke up on New Years Day -those sweet little arms outstretched to Grammy warmed my heart. She never seems to tire of playing chase or her nigh nigh game. PaPa even had to rub her and my backs as we were "sleeping". Too funny - she doesn't miss a beat. Looks like Grandpa Todd was getting a workout at the Great Mall! She's a climber. Precious memories!
