Last weekend we headed down to Springfield to visit friends and take in a MSU Bears game at the new JQH arena on campus. Since Peyton is not a fan of big crowds or dark arenas (and the bears have only lost one conference game to date) she stayed in Clinton with Grammy & Papa! On Saturday we headed down to Springfield for a visit and lunch with Courtney at Ocean Zen. We also had the chance to check-out the Bistro Market, campus bookstore and of course worked in a trip to Bass Pro! Afterwards we met-up with Tara and Kyle for an awesome game at the new arena - wow - a WAY different experience than when we went to college there! The student section was packed and wild - so exciting to experience! The Bears kept it interesting by trailing the entire game until the last minute and winning by 1 point!!! Whew! After the game we headed to Nakatos, another favorite of the Todd's, for dinner. Who knew Springfield would be our Asian food destination??!? We had a great visit with everyone - here are a few pics from the weekend -
While we were enjoying ourselves in Springfield, Peyton kept Grammy & Papa on their toes! Earlier in the week, Great Grandpa Mintun was diagnosed with terminal liver/gall bladder cancer which was incredibly difficult news for the family to hear. Peyton was the bright spot of the weekend for the grandparents and great-grandparents - some of the best medicine available! During her visit she got to spend some time with the great-grandparents, Uncle Mark, cousin Joe, attend a bowling party (and I hear she was quite disappointed she didn't get to bowl) and even go to church! One of her favorite games of the weekend was apparently playing keep away with a ball while she was in her crib - funny!
