Weekly Happenings - 2/1 - 2/7

On Tuesday, I had to head out of town for work meetings just outside of San Francisco and Chad planned to join me with his flight leaving on Wednesday morning so Grammy arrived on Tuesday after dinner to stay with Garrison during Peyton's dance class that Daddy took her to.  Early on Wednesday morning, Chad was on his way and Grammy was in-charge!

The kids had a great time with Grammy during our vacation, especially getting to go to school a little later (Peyton had to be woke-up one day!) and showing Grammy many of their daily activities.  This week had some "extras" including a trip to the book fair on Thursday morning!  The kids had a great time shopping for some new books and were happy with their finds!  After school on Friday, Grammy picked everyone up and they went to her house to spend the weekend where Grandpa could join the fun!  They were big helpers setting up tables for a breakfast at church, playing outside, making Valentine crafts & cookies and playing lots of games!  After church and a fish fry lunch, Grammy, the kids and Apollo were on their way back to our house to get ready for the week.  They watched a bit of the Super Bowl but it didn't really hold their interest so they played a few games of Memory!  On Monday they were back into routine and ready for the week!

A few funnies from the week -
--Garrison asked frequently "what are my options?"  I mean, a guy always has to know his options I guess!
--Peyton, while watching the Super Bowl, told Grammy "My daddy said it was ok to cheer for the Broncos, this time."
--Peyton has learned how to play Jesus Loves Me and was proud to show it off to Grammy at piano lessons!
--Garrison really wanted to eat at Slim Chickens, while at Grammy & Grandpa's, and just couldn't understand why they didn't have one in town!  "Dude, let's just go to Slim Chickens!"
--the kids found it fascinating to hear about what life must have been like with Grammy & Grandpa were kids without iPads!

It was an absolutely awesome week with our little people!!!! They were soooooo good, and Peyton was especially helpful. Amanda had warned me the Book Fair would be wild, but it was actually very organized - and the kids and I really enjoyed the Krispy Kreme donuts and juice there!

I was quite pleased we got Peyton to school on time every day. Garrison was happy to get to go late since he doesn't have a particular time to arrive. The kids were very cooperative.

We had a great two days in Clinton too. I had rearranged the basement after painting down there, and Peyton noticed first thing saying, "Grammy, I really like how you rearranged the furniture down here". She is getting so mature!!!

I feel so blessed to get to spend so much time with Peyton and Garrison while the parents were gone. I'm having withdrawals from them now - too quiet!!!!
