1. Wednesday was Peyton's Halloween Party day and I was able to take off and help out with the party!! The party started with a school-wide parade around the track at the playground and then it was classroom party time!! We made magically appearing spider webs, played pass the pumpkin and of course had yummy treats to eat! All in all, it was a great party!!
2. Peyton didn't have school on Thursday so she went to Y-care in the morning and then spent the afternoon with me! We went to the salon where she had her first haircut at a "big girl" salon and then we had ice cream before picking up Garrison and heading to piano lessons.
3. On Thursday night, Daddy had to work late but we had previously planned to go to Pie Five for dinner so I took the kids - they LOVE Pie Five, always eat well and enjoy it most when we eat up high! A win-win for the school too since proceeds from the night went to the school!
4. Peyton had Friday off from school too so Grammy asked if she could come up and spend the day with her. Of course, Garrison didn't want to miss out so he got to stay home too! It was the 2nd to last day for Deanna Rose to be open so everyone bundled up and took a trip to the farm! Peyton rode a pony a few times, they fished, fed goats and had a great time!! Next up was lunch at Freddy's and a little bit of quiet time before Garrison's trick or treating time at school.
5. On Friday afternoon, Garrison's class went trick or treating around the local business park. Grammy got the kids dressed and I met them on the trick or treating path - I was so happy to get to go with them. Grammy had planned to head home but Garrison asked her to stay and walk with us so she did. They got quite a bit of candy in a short amount of time - seeing all those kids trick or treating is quite a site!!
6. Saturday was the big day - Halloween! To kick off the night, we had several friends over for a quick dinner and it was a great time! We ended up with over 30 people for dinner and the kids all did such a great job playing after dinner before we went out! Check-out our kitty cat & "Hulk Smash" when they were ready to trick or treat. Garrison even asked to have his face painted - he looked awesome! And Peyton asked for her whiskers - pretty adorable!! The 2nd picture is with all (well, most of...) of the kids from the party - we had quite a crew walking around the neighborhood!! The 3rd picture is Peyton with her two friends, Isabella & Claire. We ran into Isabella while out trick or treating and went over to her house for a little bit for some play time & s'mores before heading home. All in all, it was a great night!!!
7. On Sunday morning, I had to work for a while so Daddy and Peyton decided to keep busy with a game of Disney Monopoly! Daddy was so very patient in teaching Peyton a pretty complex game and they had a great time!! And the bonus - Peyton beat Daddy, fair and square!!
8. Next up, we went to Dick's Sporting Goods where Royals Fever was alive and well. The kids both got balloon crows and their faces painted. What a surprise!!
9. Sunday night brought another Royals game, Game 5 of the World Series. The Royals were up 3-1 and everyone was super pumped to see the game. Of course, the best place to watch the game is with neighborhood friends out on the driveway!! The kids made it through 5 innings and they were trailing when it was time for bed. Fortunately, the boys in blue pulled it out and around 10 or 10:30, THE ROYALS WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!! It was mayhem, people were screaming in excitement outside, fireworks were going off everywhere - crazy! The fireworks even woke Peyton up - she was so excited to learn that the Royals won!! This year has been so fun to watch and cheer on the Royals as a family - what an exciting time for the team and the city!!!
