Weekly Happenings - 8/11 - 8/17

1.  Ok, well this picture really belonged in last week's post but forgot to pull it off my phone.  On Wednesday, Peyton and her friend Audri wanted a "girls night out" dinner to celebrate the end of their time together at school.  Where did they want to go, you ask?  Blue Moose of course!  They were excellent dinner partners and it was so cute to have a girls night dinner with our almost kindergartners!

2.  On Tuesday, we had "Snoop Night" at Peyton's school where she got to meet her teacher, see her classroom and get set-up for her first day!  She was pretty pumped about everything, Garrison was mostly pumped for the ice cream and getting to play on the playground!

3.  Thursday was the BIG day - Peyton's first day of Kindergarten!  We were so proud of how excited she was and how well she did on that morning.  Mommy didn't do too shabby either - I didn't cry until after I was out of the school and on my way to work! :)  Peyton got to walk-in with her friend from daycare, Will, and they even held hands - adorable.  On her first day, they took a tour of the school to learn where everything is located, she bought her lunch, had PE, Spanish and Music as her "special" activities, had two recesses and successfully found the daycare van for her ride to after-school care!

I'm still not sure how we have a kindergartner already but couldn't be more excited to see what is to come!

4.  On Friday night, our friends the Sizemore's invited us over for tacos and playtime.  The kids had a ball playing outside and the adults enjoyed catching-up as well.  Great way to end a busy week!

5.  On Saturday, Peyton asked to have her BFF Victoria over for a play date.  It was impromptu but it was perfect!  They played, picked tomatoes, had a lunch picnic, watched part of a movie and overall enjoyed being back together after not having seen eachother for a couple of weeks.  The girls were even great about keeping Garrison involved in their play too!

6.  On Saturday evening we had our annual block party for our subdivison and it was awesome!  A game center, bounce house, huge water slide, hamburgers/hotdogs and lots of sides/desserts.  The kids had a blast playing with their friends and burning off all kinds of energy!  I love our neighborhood and feel so lucky to have great neighbors to spend time with!

7.  On Sunday while Daddy was playing in a golf tournament, Grammy & Grandpa came up for a visit and to celebrate Grandpa's upcoming birthday!  We had lots of fun play time at home in the morning and then we went to Blue Moose for Grandpa's birthday.  The brunch was super yummy and the company even better.  After Garrison got down for his nap, Grandpa took Peyton to the pool.  Apparently they gave many imaginary friends some excellent swim lessons!

Wow - what a fun-filled week. Pics of Peyton and friends are very sweet. Our "baby" is going to kindergarten. We enjoyed hearing her school stories. She seems to be very happy there are swings on the playground.
Sunday was a blast. The brunch at Blue Moose was yummo. Grandpa was exhausted after he assisted swimming teacher Peyton with giving lessons to 60 imaginary students. Too funny.
What a memory filled week for the Todd's. Love it.
