Weekly Happenings - 7/28 - 8/3

This week was a busy one for our family - hang tight for lots of fun pictures! :)

1.  On Monday, Daddy needed to work late so I treated the kids to dinner at Chipotle after Peyton's piano lesson!

2.  On Tuesday, Garrison turned 3!!!  His morning started off great with presents from Mommy & Daddy and Peyton, all big hits, and phone calls from Grammy & Grandma Todd, all before school!  He felt pretty special all day which is the way it should be!  After gymnastics, we met at Blue Moose for the birthday boy's celebration dinner, topped off with yummy desserts!!!  And of course, the birthday boy wanted a sleepover with his big sis to end the day - how can you deny that?!

3.  On Wednesday, I was supposed to go with Peyton on a field trip but it was cancelled.  So instead, we decided to have a Mommy & Peyton day and it was FANTASTIC!  Peyton chose a low-key day.  We went to McDonald's for breakfast where she also picked-out a movie from the RedBox for us to watch.  She picked Isabelle (American Girl) and we both thought it was great.  After spending time outside watering flowers and playing on the playset, we met-up with a friend of mine and her daughter for lunch at Olive Garden - yum!  Next up was a trip to Costco where both kids got costumes - Snow White for Peyton and Jake for Garrison.  Then we took a trip to the pool!  It was very chilly so we were the only people there but even Big Baby got in on the fun with a little sunbathing time!   At the end of the day, Daddy wasn't going to be home in time for me to make it to my girls night plans so I took Peyton to the office to meet-up with him.  We had a little extra time so I introduced her to a few of my co-workers and showed her my desk before taking her over to Daddy.  Of course, she wanted to look nice for her visit so she put on her full Snow White costume!  Needless to say, we turned a few heads at the campus as I escorted Snow White around! :)  Peyton was even a super big girl and stayed at Daddy's desk while he finished a meeting after I needed to leave - she is growing up SO fast!!

4.  Wednesday night I had a girls night and it was great!  We started with dinner at Spin followed by Sound of Music at Starlight!  It was a beautiful night, especially for July, and the show was fantastic!!

5.  On Friday, Peyton had a dentist appointment to have a filling and another tooth sealed.  She had an adverse reaction to the nitrogen gas and got sick in the chair (poor baby!) but she was SO brave and even after getting sick she got all of her work taken care of.  For being so strong and brave, the dentist even gave her two coins for prizes when she was done!!  She also got to keep her nose cover and is so proud to show it to everyone that will take a look!!

6.  After her mishap at the dentist, she got a bite to eat and rested a bit.  By early afternoon, she was feeling better and wanted to go on her field trip with her friends to Tad's for snow cones!  Here she is with her friend Audri enjoying their summertime treat!

7.  Saturday was birthday party day for Garrison and it was a blast!!!  We had his party this year at Deanna Rose and he had the best of times.  Our theme this year was Mickey & Garrison Have a Farm!  Garrison was excited that all of his family was able to join and several of his friends from school and their families were able to join in the fun!  We played barn bean bag toss, enjoyed yummy snacks, opened presents and capped the party off with cake!  Garrison did such a great job playing "host" at his party.  He insisted on handing out drinks to his friends and passing out cake to everyone before he sat down to have his own!  He also thanked everyone after he opened their gift and passed-out the party favors and thanked his friends for coming as they were leaving.  What a gentleman!  After the party was over, Garrison got to go on his first pony ride at Deanna Rose (you have to be three and he was pumped!) and mine for gemstones.  A huge thanks to everyone that came to celebrate with us!!!

8.  Our weekend was then capped-off with a trip to see Planes: Fire & Rescue.  This was Garrison's first trip to the movie and we went in style.  The theater we were in had reclining seats!  Of course, we had candy, popcorn and fun drinks.  They did pretty well and only got antsy in the last 15 minutes or so of the movie.  Fun times!!

What a wonderful birthday week for our special little man. Where did 3 years go? The party was so much fun - and the cake Mommy lovingly made for him was awesome! Beautiful day for an outdoor party.

Too bad Peyton had a bad experience at the dentist, but she was pretty calm telling us about it and was quite proud of her mouthpiece thing when she showed it to us. She wanted us to smell it! Too funny

Great week for the Todds with priceless memories. We are blessed.
