Weekly Happenings - 8/6 - 8/12

Milestone:  I think we can officially say now that Garrison is taking steps!!  He made several trips back and forth between Daddy & Mommy on Sunday and is getting much better at gaining his balance and stepping - what a big boy!!

1.  The weather has finally started to cooperate a bit more and we had the chance to play outside a couple of times this last weekend - it was great!  We started off our weekend by meeting two of my friends from my church mom's group at a park for dinner & play time - what a perfect Friday!  We enjoyed Chick Fil A before exploring two different play areas and even a pond.  Peyton made a new friend, Mia, and they had a great time together.  Mia is 5 but Peyton did pretty well keeping up with her and even climbed the elementary school's rope mountain.  We also got to play with our neighbor friends on Saturday afternoon - amazing how entertaining water bottles can be - the kids stayed busy for almost an hour just filling, spraying and dumping their water bottles!

2.  On Saturday, Grammy came up to spend part of the day with us and we had a great day!  We started by running a few errands but arrived at Deanna Rose right after it opened.  It was a perfect day to explore the farm since it was nice and cool.  Peyton was finally old enough to ride the ponies by herself - she wasn't quite sure about it at first but was quite proud of herself when she got off of Sadie!  We saw the chickens, cows, horses, goats, fed the ducks, had some snacks and finished our visit with some play time on the playground.  What a fun morning!  After the farm we had lunch at Chipotle (a favorite for all!) and then the kids took naps while we drove around which gave Grammy & Mommy time to visit!  Before heading home we stopped for ice cream then played back at the house before it was time for Grammy to head home - we had tons of fun!

3.  Sunday morning we had some quite family time at home and it was great!  The kids had missed Daddy since he was gone Friday/Saturday.  I love these next two pictures - the first one, Garrison looks quite proud of himself and the second includes Garrison pulling Peyton's hair - something that happens quite frequently these days...

4.  On Sunday afternoon we met-up with Grandma & Grandpa Todd for lunch and a little play time at the mall.  They didn't have a table with a high enough high-chair for Garrison so he sat in a booster (and did quite well!).  While at the mall the kids both road the carousel, Peyton & Grandma rode the train and Grandma & Grandpa took the kids to the play area while we checked-out some washer/dryer sets and refrigerators since we will be making those purchases soon!  We wrapped-up our visit with none other than Peyton's favorite at the moment...ice cream - yum!
