1. Our little dancer is going to be in her first dance recital in June and when she got her costume I found out that her hair needed to be in a bun with no part for the recital. This may not sound like a big deal to most but it totally made nervous! Usually Peyton wants nothing to do with me fixing her hair but she must be excited for her recital because she has let me practice a couple of times. Here was our first attempt (which turned out quite well if I do say so myself!). When I was done she wanted to try on her costume too - so cute! :) I can't wait to see her on stage!
2. On Thursday of last week we had an awesome surprise - our friends Marla, Evan & Morgan came by for a quick visit on their way home from visiting Grandma & Grandpa. Peyton loved having her friend Evan over for dinner and they played and played all evening until it was bedtime. We miss our friends so much but are happy to see them several times a year! :) Peyton & Evan still aren't too sure about Garrison participating in play time but they eventually came around to the concept! Before long, Morgan will be joining in on the fun too, I can't wait!
3. Saturday was my chance to catch-up with my girlfriends from college. Now that we are all married and either have kids or have one on the way it is hard to find time for all of us to get together but we try to at least once a year. Usually we go to a spa and then wrap-up our day with some shopping but this year we tried something different - a visit to a winery. We technically went to two wineries but the first was a bit of a bust (read: a sign that said "Winery Open - Really", ducks swimming in the hotel pool and another sign stating "swimwear optional beyond this point." - Eek!). The second, however, was a blast! We tasted wines, enjoyed a couple of bottles overlooking the vineyard/bluff, listened to a band and had a tasty dinner before heading to do a little shopping. We had a great day and stayed up entirely way too late chatting but it was a blast! Thanks girls for a fun weekend! :)
4. On Friday after work, the kids & I headed down to Clinton to begin our weekend. Daddy had a golf tournament on Saturday and since I was headed to the lake for my girls weekend the kiddos went to Grammy & Grandpa's for a visit! My cousin Joe was even in town visiting Grandma Mintun so he joined us for dinner on Friday night. Peyton took a bit to warm up but by the end of the evening she was her normal entertaining self! Saturday, Peyton & Grandpa went to get donuts for breakfast and after she ate she started asking me if I was leaving yet since she knew she wasn't going to see Grandma Minutn until after I left! After I was gone, more fun ensued including a trip to the playground (even Garrison gets to swing now!), playtime and lunch at Grandma Minutn's (complete with an ice cream cone for Peyton), and visits to the pond to see frogs. On Sunday, Peyton was a big helper getting lunch ready - she helped Grammy roll-up the crescent rolls, bake chocolate chip cookies and even set the table! I think Peyton may have been expecting a few more to join us for dinner but she was quite proud of her table! :)
5. Chad played in a golf tournament on Saturday as part of his Am Tour and he placed first in his flight, won two closest to the pin awards and won a skin - needless to say it was a good day for Daddy! :)

Good weekend for all - Mommy with her friends - Daddy won golf tournament - kiddos fun time at Grammy and Grandpa's. We had a blast! One of Peyton's funniest phrases for the weekend was, "Grammy has it that way for a reason - or, it is that way for a reason". Too funny. Garrison is the best little sleeper and eater and so easy. Peyton loved the playground and blowing bubbles and continues to love "helping" with most everything - "I'll help you Grammy" and is quite good actually. Great family memories.
Peyton is beautiful in her costume - hair looks great. Can't wait for the recital. She showed us some of her steps - I think she is excited about it too. Good job Mommy!
