Weekly Happenings - 4/30-5/6

1.  On Monday, Peyton helped me get all of my flowers out for the year.  We planted 5 pots and a portion of our landscaping out front.  It may have been a big project but we had a good time!  Peyton loved wearing her gloves, helping dig the holes and putting the flowers in their spots.  When her friends started to come out she was disappointed Mommy didn't have gloves for everyone to help!

2.  We finally got around to taking Garrison's 9 month picture with Mickey - our little boy is growing up way too fast!!

3.  This weekend was a big one for Mommy - I learned to scuba dive!  Wow, not sure I ever thought I would give scuba a try but after Daddy got certified late last year I thought I would join in the fun.  It was a pretty intense weekend which included lots of swimming & building scuba skills but I am now looking forward to going diving - should be amazing!!

4.  While I was busy learning to scuba and Daddy stayed busy with projects around the house (and going diving with me on Sunday which was great!), the kiddos spent the weekend with Grammy & Grandpa and man did they have a good time!  Grammy & Grandma Mintun picked-up the kids from school and Peyton talked the whole way home - not a shocker if you ask me, I'm sure she was excited!!  I doubt I will catch everything they did but a few of the fun activities included swimming in the wading pool, Peyton getting her nails painted (two different colors which she thought was pretty cool!), watering flowers and cooking with Grammy, a picnic at Grandma Mintun's for dinner, dress-up time, a trip to the donut shop with Grandpa, a church dinner, and of course lots of good old fashioned play time!  I was a little worried since this was the first time Garrison had been away from both Mommy & Daddy but he did great!  From what I hear, everyone played, ate and slept well for the weekend - can't ask for much more than that!

5.  Milestone:  Garrison has now officially said his first word!!  I didn't catch it but Daddy told me he said "ma ma" once which he quickly followed-up with "da da"!  Yay!!!  He hasn't since repeated "ma ma" but is quite proud to say "da da" over and over again - so cute!  Milestones are coming left and right these days!

We had a blast! Peyton is so good with Garrison - she can get him giggling like no one else! Every minute was a blessing - we loved having them in Clinton with us. They were quite the hit at the church dinner - like little magnets - everyone wanted to hold Garrison and thought his hair is so cute - of course, everyone commented that Peyton is a mini-Amanda and so adorable. Peyton loved the pot luck - she went through the dessert line twice (hmmmm - wonder who she gets that after). Garrison was quite the trooper with his food and bottles and slept all night both nights. Glad you both enjoyed the scuba diving - quite an accomplishment for both of you! I'm proud of you.
We are blessed - family memories.
