Peyton also took a HUGE step and moved into her big girl bed a little over a week ago. She is doing GREAT! Peyton & I went to Peachwave for a special ice cream treat while Daddy took her crib down. When it was time to go to bed that night she looked for her crib in her room and in the "far room" but when she didn't find it she quickly accepted that she was going to be a big girl and sleep in her new bed!
We escaped the 2010 portion of winter with little to no snow - whew! Unfortunately, January/February have already brought a ton! Last week we even had a blizzard - over a foot of snow at our house plus wind that blew drifts around like crazy! Daddy seemed to be shoveling endlessly but we have a very clean driveway to show for it - good job Daddy!! :)
Peyton is also doing an excellent job with potty training! Until this weekend she had refused to consider going poop on the potty but on Saturday she did it! Granted, she was fussing and crying the whole time - kind of traumatized a bit I think but she asked to go and she did it - we were so proud and excited! We asked her what she wanted for her special treat for going poop on the potty (thinking ice cream or something) - all she wanted was marshmallows! Easy enough.
And last weekend we also accomplished another big step for Peyton - NO MORE PACI!!! Peyton LOVES her paci and we knew this would be a tough transition. We promised her on Friday if she could go two days without her paci we would go and she could pick out a special prize. Friday night I laid down with her until she fell asleep and Saturday nap was a little rough but Saturday nightime went really smoothly! Last night Daddy laid down with her as she was having a tough time but she is asking for her paci less and less so I think we are getting there. Honestly, knock on wood, it has gone much smoother than I anticipated so hopefully she continues to be a big girl! At Target she picked out a big red ball, a pretend princess hair kit and food for her kitchen - wow, we got off easy! :)
Here are some pics from the last couple of weeks -
