Weekend at Home

Last weekend we stayed up here in KC and had a great family weekend! Believe it or not, I have never been to Zona Rosa so on Saturday afternoon when Peyton was ready to go down for her nap we packed-up the car and headed North of the river. We really went up there for a large summer clearance sale at Dillard’s but stumbled onto the Zona Rosa Art Fair! We had a ball walking around, checking out the booths (though we never got too close since Peyton’s reach continues to get longer every day!), visiting a few stores and even watching a cool frog fountain. Here is a pic of Peyton & Daddy at the fountain. Peyton is a bit on the nosey (or better said, inquisitive) side so she was in heaven watching all of the happenings while we walked around. She even enjoyed walking on the grass a little outside and waddling around in Dillard’s while Mommy & Daddy did their shopping.

I can’t believe how fast Peyton is growing up! She is taking more steps every day and gaining her confidence with walking. Here recently she has even been taking steps, stopping, sometimes even turning and continuing to walk. Although she still prefers to be barefoot, Peyton is starting to get used to her shoes and doesn’t try to immediately take them off as soon as you get them on her anymore – progress! :)

On a side note – Peyton now officially has 5 teeth with the 6th one trying to peek through. She’s going to have a whole mouthful soon! I use one of those finger brushes to brush her teeth at night and she gets super excited when I pull it out. Good thing she likes to have her teeth brushed! Peyton also enjoys Daddy sticking his finger in her mouth and wiggling it up and down to where it hits her teeth – she has created her own little game of it and now has added a new trick to the game – can I bite down before Daddy can get his finger pulled out? Ouch!

Peyton looks like she is concentrating on the fountain - Daddy looks like he is concentrating on his little precious "punkin" concentrating. Priceless. What a fun family weekend.
