Weekly Happenings - 6/27 - 7/3

This week, the kids had a ton of fun at Grammy & Grandpa's - hopefully I can capture all of the fun they had!

1.  One activity on the list was to see Finding Dory!  The kids had been looking forward to seeing the movie and were super pumped to go while in Clinton, especially since they got to pick-out snacks at the theater!  True to form, Garrison loved the movie and Peyton liked it but lost interest toward the end. :P

2.  One day they went to the Conservation Center!  They held snakes, turtles and saw all kinds of other animals.

3.  On Tuesday they took a field trip to Warsaw to go to the dam & the fish hatchery. Peyton wasn't too interested in fishing but Garrison was all-in!  He caught 13 fish (catch and release), including 2 catfish!  Grandpa could barely keep up with him catching fish so quickly!!

4.  Peyton & Garrison also took Grammy & Grandpa out on the links and tried their hand at a little golf (and a lot of golf cart driving!).  It was a hot day but fun was had by all.  The kids had the most fun driving the cart and hitting golf balls into the pond!

5.  Many of the days were hot so the wading pool came out.  Peyton is almost as long as the slide is but it is still a fun way to enter the pool!  The kids also had a lot of fun helping Grammy cook, decorating cookies and having picnics!

6.  By Friday, Old Glory Days started and there was a ton to do!  Grammy & Grandpa took the kids to the cardboard boat races, the duck race, on a few carnival rides and to walk around the square and see what the festival had to offer!

7.  By Friday night, Chad & I arrived and had fun going up to the square with everyone for the sponsor dinner where we got a private magic show from the Fishin' Magician!  Garrison cut a ball in half many times and Peyton helped with a card trick.  We were all amazed!  Since the weather was supposed to turn to rain, we spent the rest of the evening on several carnival rides and playing some games!  The kids couldn't get enough of all of the activities!!

8.  Saturday was a rainy, rainy day.  The parade was cancelled as were all of the other activities.  But, this gave us lots of time for endless games, the kids fixed my hair a few times and we went out to dinner!  After dinner, we were happy that the rain stopped and the kids were able to throw some snappers & hit a few golf balls into the lake with Daddy!

9.  While the kids were at Grammy & Grandpa's, Chad & I worked on her room.  Since we moved in (cough, almost 4 years ago, cough), she has needed an updated room but we wanted to wait until she was old enough to help pick-out what she wanted.  It was a bit of a long week with really late nights for Chad, but the end result is amazing!  And our little girl is thrilled with her new room!!!

Camp Arthur was a wonderful, fun week for the kids AND Grammy and Grandpa! The kiddos were well-behaved and great to have around. Olde Glory Days activities were also a blast. Peyton's room turned out great, and she loves it. Garrison told us they would be coming back "for a few weeks" when Daddy and Mommy do his room. ha ha
