1. On Wednesday, we had Peyton's Parent-Teacher conference - it is always great to hear how she is doing and what she is working on at school! Mrs. Ernst told us she is a pleasure to have in class and is doing very well this year! Her winter test results were great and she is showing great progress against her beginning of the year! She has more homework these days but really enjoys sitting down and working to get it done. She also continues to work on her sight words and writes sentences usually 1-2 times a week to go along with her sight words. Peyton also has started reading the "beginning reader" type books all by herself! So proud of our big girl!!!
2. Peyton was out of school on Thursday/Friday for conferences so on Friday, Grammy & Grandma Mintun came up to spend the day with her! It didn't take long before they were playing games and enjoying lunch out at Freddy's! At the end of the day, they went to join Garrison for his Valentine's Day party at school before everyone went back to Grammy & Grandpa's for the weekend. Their weekend was a busy one - a trip to the high school basketball game, a visit to the home show where they got balloon animals and toured some RVs, went to church and all kinds of other fun things. They even made bowls made out of chocolate for their fruit and other goodies! They stayed through until Monday since Peyton was out of school and Grandpa had the day off for President's Day. On Monday, Grammy took Peyton to her piano lesson - it was the first time she had heard her play and she did great! A good time was had by all.
3. Since the kiddos were away, we took advantage and had a very busy weekend! We started with Valentine's dinner at Fogo de Chao, a Brazilian steakhouse. It was amazing and we had a great time! On Saturday we ran several errands to buy some things for the house and do a little clothes shopping without our little helpers that typically don't have a lot of stamina or patience for shopping (unless it is at a toy store!). We had a great time! On Sunday, I had some work I had to do and we worked on getting things done around the house. We had an absolutely fantastic weekend - lots of fun and lots accomplished as well - can't be beat!

We had 4 days of pure joy and fun with our little angels. We kept very busy and had a great time playing BINGO (Garrison knows his letters and numbers so well), Go Fish, Crazy 8s, etc. they loved Cowboy Kate and her balloon art at the home show and really enjoyed every aspect of the CHS basketball game - especially the pep band since Mommy had played in it in high school. It was court warming so they loved the crowning of the king and queen - and of course the popcorn and hotdogs. On Friday, Peyton chose Freddy's for lunch - sitting up high - with a large dirt and worms sundae after lots of games and crafts at home.
Getting to go to her piano lesson was super special. She is doing great and seemed proud. We also had some great conversations on the trip there and back.
As always, the house seemed so quiet and lonely after the kids went home. Looking forward to the next visit. Priceless family memories - we are blessed.
