Weekly Happenings - 1/26 - 2/1

Well, I managed to go the whole week without any pictures.  Not sure that has ever happened before. I mean, we were busy, we had lots of fun but no pictures.  So it goes!

1.  Favorite saying of the weekend, "You get what you get and you don't throw a GARRISON!"  This came out of Garrison's mouth when we were talking about not throwing fits when you don't get your way.  It is very fitting for our 3-year-old little man!

2.  Peyton continues to do well in school and this week earned another special lunch with her teacher for having enough "purple days" or days with good behavior.  She has achieved this every month so far of school - so proud of her!

3.  Garrison had a HUGE milestone this week.  He seems to have mastered potty training!!  Garrison mastered the "potty" part months ago but couldn't seem to get himself to the bathroom to "poop."  Well, he has now gone over a week without a single poop accident.  Accomplishing this task earned him the privilege of sleeping in big boy underwear at night and a talking Buzz Lightyear!  He took his Buzz to school the day after he earned it - he was so proud!!  And he has been sleeping in underwear for a week now and we have yet to have an accident - YAY!!  So proud of him (and excited for me not having to clean poopy underwear every couple of days! :P).

4.  This weekend was amazing.  We had a weekend where Chad nor I had to work - it was fantastic and it was so wonderful to have extra family time!  We played, danced, built legos, watched movies and read lots of books.  We even snuck away to the theater to see Paddington!  The kids LOVE going to the theater and both really liked the movie.  So fun!

5.  Sunday was Superbowl Sunday!  We celebrated by fixing lots of yummy treats - sausage & cheese balls, stuffed baked potatoes and chocolate chip cookies!  The kids were fairly unimpressed with the game, commercials and well, the half-time show.  But the appeased us and hung-out to watch the big game until their bedtime.  :)

6.  Now my inner geekyness comes out.  Yep, we all know it is there.  Saturday night, I was a total party animal and finished our taxes.  I must admit, it feels AWESOME to have our taxes done on February 1st.  One less thing to worry about if work gets crazy again!

7.  This week was a tough one in our family.  Garrison ended up staying home Monday (with Chad) and Tuesday (with me) not feeling well.  Then Chad came down with the stomach bug on Wednesday.  Knocking on a HUGE piece of wood, Peyton & have stayed away from the bug.  Here's to hoping that continues!
