1. The excitement with the Royals has continued into this week - and on Wednesday, they won the ALCS! The Royals managed to sweep the Baltimore Orioles in their quest to take the pennant and the excitement is all over the city! The kids continued to be excited about wearing their Royals gear and even asked to get the baseball gloves out to play catch in the mornings before school. It may have been 29 years since the Royals were last in the playoffs but they are making up for lost time and we have enjoyed every minute of it!! #takethecrown
3. Thursday was Daddy's birthday and the kids did an awesome job shopping for him! Bright and early in the morning, they were ready to help him open his presents of a Superman robe (complete with hood!), new PJ bottoms (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and superhero toys. They are quite the shoppers let me tell you! We were all excited to wish Daddy a very happy birthday!!
4. On Saturday, Grammy & Grandpa met us early for family pictures. Everyone did a great job posing for pictures and I can't wait to share them when we get them back in just a few days. Apollo even got to join in the pictures this year! We then spent the rest of the day playing and knocking things off of the to-do list - it was great! Peyton is very into games these days and will play just about anything with anyone who is willing to join her. I caught Grandpa & Peyton playing here 6-foot long "Eye Spy" game! Saturday evening, Chad & I snuck away to see Fury at the Cinema Suites for his birthday. It was a very intense movie but one we are both glad we went to see! While we were away, Grammy & Grandpa took the kids to Culver's for dinner and happened into a car show and trunk-or-treat! How random but man the kids were excited! Grammy & Grandpa stayed the night and visited for a bit on Sunday morning before it was time for them to head home.
5. On Sunday, we started our morning on the slow side then around lunch time went to Lexington to get ready for Morgan's birthday party. On our way we ate brunch at Cracker Barrel. Peyton & Daddy had a pretty serious game of checkers going while we waited for our table! After brunch, we visited with Grandma & Grandpa for a bit before going to Morgan's Cowboy Mickey birthday party. The kids had a great time!! We wrapped-up our visit with dinner at Grandma & Grandpa's (and a mini tea party hosted by Peyton & Whitney) before heading home to get ready for the week. This was our first visit where Garrison & Morgan played together - hopefully they will realize they are close in age and can be good friends!
