Weekly Happenings - 6/9 - 6/15

1.  Wednesday was my birthday and everyone made me feel very special on my special day!!  Chad had taken both kids to buy presents for me (including taking Peyton over lunch from school!) so they were excited to give me their selections - they did a great job shopping and I have lots of new fun things!  Then my co-workers decorated my cube, took me to lunch and brought in treats for the day.  When I got home, Chad & the kids took me to dinner at Blue Moose and then on Thursday, we enjoyed an awesome chocolate cake to wrap-up our celebration.  What an amazing birthday!!!

2.  On Friday night, our neighborhood had a get together - Fire Pit Friday - at the pool and the ice cream truck was to make an appearance!  We invited 3 other families over to have pizza and play before the event and it was perfect.  Everyone had a great meal, the kids played a ton and we got to go to the party all together.  After ice cream and play time at the pool, we ventured to one of the other families houses for bounce house fun and s'mores.  We ended our evening there, around 10:30.  That is CRAZY late for our kids but they were having a ball.  They didn't fight going to bed at all and slept in until 7 (late for us!).  It was such a wonderful night of beautiful weather, friends, fellowship and just good ol' fashioned fun!

3.  On Saturday, Daddy started his father's day celebration with a round of golf with his Dad, Grandpa Todd!  While Daddy was busy playing golf, the kids & I ran errands, did a little Father's Day shopping and even took a trip to the pool  I was a little worried about meltdown city making a visit given our late night but they both were on their best behavior all day - it was great!!

4.  Sunday was the big day - Father's Day.  The kids were a bit confused with my birthday having been earlier in the week and kept wishing him a Happy Birthday and singing Happy Birthday every once and a while, sprinkled in with the Happy Father's Day wishes but that's ok - we just like to celebrate!  The kids were excited to give Daddy his presents, all of 5 minutes after Daddy woke up.  Later in the morning, we all got dressed-up for what seems to be our new tradition of Sunday brunch. It was fantastic - tasty, the kids were on their best behavior and we had a great time.  Garrison even "took care of business" while we were there - he seems to be getting the hang of it, we'll get there!  We spent the rest of the day around the house, working on projects and playing together - a pretty nice Sunday.  We are so very thankful for Daddy and I can't imagine anyone better to raise our kids with.  Happy Father's Day!!
