Weekly Happenings - 6/16 - 6/22

1.  On Tuesday, Chad took Peyton to gymnastics so after Garrison & I did a few things around the house, we took Apollo for a walk.  Garrison ALWAYS finds something along the way to pick-up on our walks but this week's took the cake.  Can anyone say, "little man carries big stick?!"  Seriously - the stick was more than twice his size but he managed to carry it for over a block!

2.  On Friday, Grandma Todd and Whitney were in the city and Peyton had been asking to have Whitney over for a sleepover again so Grandma brought her to our house for her visit.  The kids were excited to see Grandma for a bit too before she had to head home.  Our visit with Whitney was a blast!  We started with pizza and swimming at our pool (a big treat to eat AT the pool too!).  The kids played really well together and the girls were willing to include Garrison quite a bit.  He definitely wanted to keep up with them!  They even ended-up sleeping in Peyton's twin bed on Friday night - not sure how that worked exactly but they eventually fell asleep!  On Saturday we started slow, went to a bakery for some tasty treats, played and even took a trip to the mall to visit the American Girl store.  I'm pretty sure those girls could spend HOURS in that store and never realize it!  Around dinner time on Saturday, it was time for Whitney to head home - we had a really fun visit!!

3.  On Saturday evening, my bootcamp friends got together to have a progressive birthday celebration since over half of us have birthdays in June!  We started with appetizers at one house, main course at the 2nd and dessert at my house.  We even had themes - farm theme at the first house (check-out the bandanas), American themed in the middle and a baby shower theme (to celebrate Lindsay's soon to arrive baby boy!) at our house.  These girls are awesome and I feel so lucky to have met them!  It was also fun to see everyone dressed-up and with hair/make-up done since we are usually together at 5 AM after just rolling out of bed to work out!

4.  Saturday night was a late one but of course, Garrison was still up just after 6!  We had a pretty relaxing morning and I even got some work done outside while the kids played before it got too hot which was just about perfect!  Chad had a golf tournament and headed out around lunch time.  Early in the afternoon, Grammy, Grandpa & Grandma Mintun came to visit - the kids were super pumped for them to arrive!  While Garrison napped, Peyton, Grammy & I ran a few errands and by the time we got home it was time to get ready for the pool.  Garrison took a while to warm-up (since he didn't want to put on swimming trunks to begin with!) but they both had a blast at the pool!  Grandma was impressed with how well they swam and Grammy & Grandpa had fun spending time in the pool, especially since it was so hot out today!  We wrapped-up our visit with dinner at McDonald's and a tasty coconut creme pie for dessert.  Can't be beat!

Another fun week at the Todds! Peyton loved telling me about her visit from Whitney - sounds like it was a blast!

The "bottle" cake was very cute - Amanda, you are quite creative with cakes! Good that your whole evening was fun - girls night out!

We loved the visit on Sunday, of course! Peyton has grown up so much in the past few months and is like shopping with a little adult. She always likes to "help" which is sweet. The pool was lots of fun - swimming lessons have definitely paid off. Beautiful day to be in the water - and it felt great. Of course, our fine dining at Walmart was a hit with the kids. Only thing wrong with the visit was that it was too short! Of course, in Grammy's opinion.

Beautiful family and friend memories - a great week. We are blessed.
