Weekly Happenings - 7/29 - 8/4

1.  Happy Birthday Garrison!!  Although we celebrated on Sunday, Mr. Garrison turned 2 on Monday. One of his highlights - taking more cupcakes to school to share with his friends!  And what is a birthday without a picture with Mickey! :)  He is getting SO big compared to Mickey.  You've come a long way buddy!

2.  Garrison at 2:
Favorite Food - Mac & Cheese and Pancakes (but you will eat just about everything!)
Favorite Words:  Lots of them - No, no, no, no, NOOOO!  Right now, you like to just use the last syllable of a word instead of the whole thing - but you get your point across!
Favorite Character:  Mickey, definitely Mickey
Favorite Drink:  Milk
Favorite Toy:  Anything Mickey
Favorite Song:  You are my Sunshine & Wheels on the Bus
Favorite Book:  There's a Wocket in my Pocket, Dragon in a Wagon & Pajama Time

Mr. is growing so fast and really becoming his own person (and very independent!).  I am amazed at how much he has grown over the last year and can't wait to see what the next year brings!

3.  On Friday, the kids & I had a quick dinner at home and since it was a nice night, we loaded Garrison into the stroller and took a walk down to Sonic!  It wasn't a short walk for Peyton but she did a great job.  Obviously, they enjoyed their molten lava cake ice cream sundae and were troopers for the walk home too!

4.  Daddy had a golf tournament this weekend so we kept ourselves VERY busy!  Saturday morning, Grammy came up to visit and we went to the mall.  Peyton had a little spending money and wanted to shop.  That, and she needed some new shoes too!  After pouring over the American Girl store for quite some time, she picked-out the bath tub to buy for Piocano.  She then wanted to go to the book store.  The kids both loved the book store and tried several out before picking out a few to take home with us! We enjoyed lunch at the mall and a ride on the carousel (oh, and ice cream!) before heading home for rest time.  Mr. was very tired so we had to sing the whole way home so he wouldn't go to sleep!  Never have I come-up with as many verses as I did for the Wheels on the Bus on the way home!

While G was napping, Grammy & Peyton went to the pool and played for a long time before we joined them.  We then wrapped-up our day with a trip to McDonald's.  Peyton LOVES to eat there - I think it is because she can usually talk us in to ice cream at the end of the meal!  Garrison was finished early and entertained himself by running back and forth to the trash cans throwing everything from our meal away, one piece at a time!  He was so proud!!

Sunday morning brought lots of rain but we didn't let it slow us down.  Peyton taught Garrison, and then Grammy, how to play Princess Yahtzee.  Peyton was very patient with Garrison and they played so well together!  Then we packed-up and went to Deanna Rose.  After watching the cow get milked, feeding the calf and then a visit to the bank, we decided the rain just wasn't going to let up so we left.  We enjoyed lunch at Olive Garden and then Peyton & I got our nails done while Garrison napped with Grammy!  Last, but not least, Peyton and Grammy built a great fort in the living room and gave Piocano her 4th bath since Saturday afternoon!  Then it was time for Grammy to go home.  We had a great time - lots of giggles!

5.  Daddy, well, he WON his golf tournament!  Peyton was so very excited that he won that she made him a sign saying "Congratulations Daddy" for him to see when he got home!  I even overheard her saying to Garrison, "you know, Daddy won a trophy today" a few times - so cute!  Indeed, congratulations Daddy - great job!!  We even went out to dinner to celebrate - yum!!

6.  Let's just say, this little man knows how to relax.  He sat here, not moving for at least 20 minutes one night this week.

What a busy week! Congratulations to Chad on his win - yea! Peyton was so proud of him.
I had a wonderful time over the weekend - Amanda chronicled it perfectly. So many fun times and memories made. Grammy loved it!
Wow - Garrison looks huge compared to 2 years ago. What a little sweetheart. Peyton had so much fun shopping at the mall - poor little Garrison put up with the girl stuff! I think he was happy to be along. Great week!
