Weekly Happenings - 7/5 - 7/8

Since the last post was a little long, this one will be a little short! :)  Life is a balancing act, right?!

1.  Thursday brought "back to work" time for Mommy & Daddy but the kiddos' school was still closed.  So that we weren't trying to balance work & keeping up with our two munchkins, Grandma & Grandpa Todd came up for a visit!  They played outside in the morning before it got hot and enjoyed a tasty lunch at Culver's before rest time.  Grandma even said that Garrison tried to take a stutter step or two - I'm hoping he shows us sometime soon!!

2.  We had a relaxing day on Saturday - before lunch we went to the pool.  What's greater than going to the pool, finding that your friends are there when you arrive!  Peyton had a great time jumping into the pool with her friend Kylie and she was much more adventuresome with a little encouragement from her friend too!  Although Peyton claimed she wasn't tired she took a 2.5 hour nap.  Check-out how she fell asleep below, rain boots & all - I foresee this picture being used for blackmail someday! :)

3.  Garrison is definitely getting into more mischief these days.  These two pictures are proof - playing with golf balls and Daddy's putting green (he got a huge kick out of the balls popping out of the hole!) and climbing to get to the piano.  He is also quite skilled at climbing the stairs now and man is he fast!

4.  On Sunday, Daddy played in a golf tournament so Grammy & Grandpa came up for a visit.  We had an awesome lunch at Cheddar's (still one of my favorites!) and took a trip to Costco before heading home.  The kids shared a cart for the first time - loved this pic!!  After rest we took a trip to the pool before it was time for Grammy & Grandpa to head home.  A fun day was had by all!

5.  Milestone:  Garrison now has a second word.  Most would probably think "Mama" would come after "Dada" but not with Garrison - his second word is "ought-oh!"

We had a blast visiting our favorite people on Sunday - and our favorite granddog of course! Missed Chad, but I am sure he was having a blast playing a golf under a little more tolerable weather conditions! Ought-Oh is so cute by Garrison - we recalled when Peyton started saying it - at her Great-Grandma's funeral, on the front pew while throwing her paci and taking off her shoes - ought-oh is right! Garrison calls all of us Da-da. Pool time was great - Peyton is a different child this year in the water - swimming lessons paying off. Peyton wanted to walk home instead of riding in the van, so she and I walked home from the pool - it was nice to have some Grammy/Peyton time to talk and hold hands - precious moments! Garrison was so sweet when we arrived - he didn't want me to give him back to his Mommy, even for me to use the powder room! Warmed my heart. All time spent with our awesome grandchildren (and their parents of course) is fantastic!

He was quite proud of his piano playing skills on Sunday - maybe he will be another Billy Joel someday!
He even has on his golfing shirt playing with the putting green.

Peyton loves those golashes - and where did she get those shorts? Geez. I think you might consider hiding all "bad" outfits - of course, she could mix and match the most beautiful outfits into bag lady attire! She is so precious and a hoot!
