Weekly Happenings - 6/24 - 7/4

That's right, that's right, this post is a little more than a week long (and more than a week late...) but it's a good one so bear with me! :)

1.  Garrison turned 11 months old this week - wow, time sure does fly when you're having fun!  Suddenly this month Garrison decided he no longer wanted to take his picture with Mickey so Daddy had to jump-in and help.  Oh well, maybe next month's picture will go a bit smoother!

2.  On Friday we headed to Grammy & Grandpa's for Olde Glory Days!  Although it was beyond hot, we had a GREAT time!  Our visit this year included the parade (Peyton LOVED the parade this year, waved at all of the entries, put her hand over her heart when flags went by, collected all kinds of candy - it was so fun to watch her!), pony rides (yes, ride's' - 3 of them!) and lots of fun carnival rides for Peyton, lots of golf for Grandpa & Daddy (Mommy & Peyton even joined in the fun on Sunday!), ice cream (twice!  once on the square and homemade ice cream on Sunday) and lots of play time too!  One of the best quotes from Peyton on the way home from the carnival with Grammy & Grandpa - Grammy-"Peyton, did you have fun at the Carnival?"  Peyton-"What's a carnival?"
We had a great time as always!!

 3. On Monday morning we got up early and headed down to the lake to visit Grandma & Grandpa Todd for a couple of days. Shortly after we arrived, Peyton & Garrison were both ready to get in the water! Peyton & Garrison both got to ride the jet ski with Daddy, we took a couple of boat rides (Peyton even got to help Grandpa drive the boat!), Peyton swam like a fish and tried her hand at boogie boarding a little bit. Since it was hot and it isn't fun to crawl on concrete, Garrison had lots of fun playtime inside. Check-out Garrison in his life jacket - although he wasn't thrilled with it he didn't seem to mind it much either which was great - Peyton was NOT a fan of the life jacket with her first experience.  We had lots of fun during our trip to the lake!

4.  Tuesday night we packed-up to head back to Grammy & Grandpas.  Daddy & Grandpa snuck-in one more round of golf before it was time for us to head home.  While they were golfing, we played with Grammy & Grandma Mintun - bubbles, pop-its (our only 4th of July fireworks experience) and movies inside where it was cool!  After lunch on Wednesday we headed home - exhausted after a fun-filled mini-vacation with all of the grandparents!

5.  Milestone:  Garrison started shaking his head "no" - it is beyond cute, I really do need to get it on video!
