Peyton also had a few firsts over the weekend which are both quite entertaining. First, she has learned to shake her head no! It finally clicked - cute! Well, it is at least cute for now! ;) When she is eating now if we offer her something she doesn't want, she just shakes her head no until we hit on what she wants. And the next bite she may want one of the things she just said no to - it is so great having a better idea of what she wants!!! Peyton's other first of the weekend was learning how to say "ought oh". Talk about C-U-T-E!!! Of course, she is quite proud of her new words and uses them all the time, even when something wasn't an accident (like throwing down her paci - over and over again) but it is still super fun!
I feel that I am missing a lot of what she is doing right now, I need to do a better job of keeping up with everything since not long after she does something she is doing something new! Hopefully I can keep up with her! ;) I also still need to download pictures from the last week - those will come probably in the next couple of days.

I kept telling Peyton all weekend - it isn't an "ought-oh" if she does it on purpose!!! During the funeral, she would toss her pacifier over the pew in front of us and then say, "ought-oh". Cute, but...... Friends in the back of the church thought it was pretty cute and funny - I guess her little "ought-oh" was picked up over the minister's microphone! Only an adorable little 1 year old can get by with things like that. Her Grandpa and Grammy didn't mind at all - we were just so happy to have her with us.
Amanda has already expressed how nice it was to be with family this weekend, although at a very sad time for us. We so very much appreciated Peyton's Grandma and Grandpa Todd driving to Clinton to give their condolences and offering to stay at our home with Peyton so Amanda and Chad could attend the family farewell at the funeral home for Grandpa's mother. Peyton is a fortunate little girl to have four grandparents who love her so much - and, she brings all of us so much joy. We are glad Amanda has such caring in-laws - thank you Todds!
Having Chad, Amanda and Peyton here with us this weekend kept us sane - we love you all so much and appreciated the support and excellent help you provided during this extremely stressful and sad time in our lives. I keep thinking I will wake up from this nightmare, but it doesn't seem to go away.
Great Grandma Arthur would have wanted us to go on with life - she lived life to the fullest while she was here on earth and now has gone to her eternal home to be with her loving husband, DeWayne. Peyton will have another angel in heaven watching over her.
