Weekly Happenings - 1/1 - 1/10

1.  The new year started with a bit of cleaning and purging around the house.  The kids had another night at Grammy & Grandpa's so while they stayed busy crafting, cooking and playing games, Chad & I were busy cleaning out cabinets and closets.  It is always tough to do but important to go through things every couple of years and get rid of the things not being used anymore.  I'm guessing we could have actually purged twice as much as we actually did but hey, it was a start!

2.  The kids came home on Saturday and quickly found that I had Garrison's bed down to change the sheets.  Of course the bed then became a trampoline!  Luckily, they decided it was safety first and lined the bed with pillows!

3.  Peyton also got out one of her project kits from Christmas - crayon melt art and she loved it!

4.  Peyton had a sleepover on Saturday night but the whole family got to join in on the fun with dinner first!  Peyton has had several sleepovers now with this group of friends and the families are all great!  We have definitely met lots of great families since Peyton started school and it is fun to get to know new people!!

5.  Since school didn't start for Peyton until Tuesday, Grammy came up for one more day of holiday break fun!  Garrison didn't want to miss out so he stayed home too!!  A trip to Scheels was in order for a ride on the Ferris Wheel and lunch at IHOP before it was time to come home and rest to get ready for school the next day!

6.  On Friday night, Daddy had to work late so we met him at The Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  The kids were in great moods after dinner and I found them cuddling watching cartoons.  They really DO love each other!!

7.  Saturday brought another fun day and a chance to cheer on the KC Chiefs!  It's a pretty exciting time in KC since the Royals won the World Series and now the Chiefs are in the playoffs!  Peyton's cheers must of worked - they won and are on to next week's game!

8.  On Sunday, Grammy & Grandpa came up to have lunch with us and it was yummy - Olive Garden!  We visited and played games and had a great time!  Peyton had also gotten a cake decorating book from the library and created this masterpiece (with very little help from me)!  Her jewelry chest turned out great and was super tasty too - nice work Ms. Peyton!

This post was packed full of fun happenings!!!! Peyton was so proud of her jewelry box cake when we were there - she and Mommy did a great job - AND, it was quite tasty. We had the privilege of sampling it after our Olive Garden lunch! Pays to be in the right place at the right time.

The kids and I had such a good time on that Monday before school resumed. I didn't know if they would let all 3 of us ride the Ferris Wheel at the same time, but they did, and it was great. They had fun at the "bowling alley" there and playing on the indoor play set. Of course they strategically place the play set by the shoes, and Peyton inherited a weakness for new shoes like her Grammy and her Mommy - soooooooooo - mint green tennis shoes cannot be passed up! Garrison didn't ask for any, and he had just become the owner of two new pair of Star War shoes, so he was happy to just watch and play on all the chairs and sofas. What a fun day.

Every minute spent with the Todds is a blessing!!!!!! God is good.
