Weekly Happenings - 11/24 - 11/30

1.  Still hard to believe this girl is 6 already!  This week we had her 6-year check-up and she is doing GREAT!  She is now 45 1/4" tall and is 48 lbs. - right on track with where she needs to be!  She listened very well to the Dr. and answered all of his questions.  When did she get so big again??

2.  On Thursday, we kicked-off our Thanksgiving (and Peyton's birthday) celebrations with family with a trip to see the Todd/Sanders families.  Everyone (except Uncle Clint, Aunt Christy, Morgan and Lucas who were under the weather) was able to make it.  We had a delicious meal, lots of fun visiting and of course a fun birthday celebration for Ms. Peyton!

3.  Thursday evening, we made our way to Grammy & Grandpa's.  When we arrived, I joined Grammy at Walmart for a little Black Friday shopping - it was a bit of a madhouse but not too bad.  On Friday morning, we started the day with lots of fun activities - trying out sewing on Peyton's new sewing machine, a start of our cookie baking for the year, games and cartoons.  As it warmed up, Grandpa, Daddy, Peyton & Garrison took to the links for a little golf - everyone had a great time!!  When they got back, Grammy, Grandma, Peyton, Garrison & I kept up with our holiday tradition by baking lots of cookies and making peppermint ornaments for all of our teachers.  It was a fun filled day!

Later that evening, we went out to dinner and then made our way to the square for the holiday party (with yummy snacks and fun crafts) followed by the light parade and of course a visit with the big guy himself!  Garrison wasn't too sure of Santa but as soon as it was their turn, he talked Santa's leg off!  It was so fun to finally have a picture of both kiddos with Santa!

On Saturday, we had a fun day preparing for our Mintun/Arthur Thanksgiving and visiting with family.  The kids got to play a little more golf, we made Peyton's birthday cake and topped it off with the Thanksgiving meal for dinner!  Since everyone made it this year, we took a family picture and it turned out great!  Of course, the "silly face" version was Garrison's favorite!  After dinner, our celebrating was over and it was time for us to head home.

3.  Sunday we stayed very busy - Daddy outside working on cleaning up the yard for winter (we have tons of leaves!) and we put out the Christmas decorations.  The kids had an awesome time helping put the ornaments on and playing with all of our Christmas music boxes.  Everyone was so gentle with the breakable ornaments and did a great job decorating for the holiday season!

What a busy week for the Todds! It seems unbelievable that our Little Miss Peyton is 6 years old! i can remember when Pooh was huge compared to her in the birthday pictures. She is quite the beautiful, smart, witty, sweet and wonderful little girl who is doing so well at school, Girl Scouts, gymnastics, swim lessons and most importantly (to Grammy anyway, ha ha) piano lessons! Grandpa and I are soooooooo proud of her!
The Thanksgiving extended weekend was full of family fun and love. It was so cute to hear Garrison say, "I'm going golfing" - left handed to boot! He's so adorable. They both did such a good job with baking day this year and even wore their Christmas aprons. We had a successful cookie/candy day. The parade and visit with Santa couldn't have been better.
It was so nice to have all the Mintun/Arthur/Todd clan present for our Thanksgiving feast again this year - our signature tablecloth is filling up. Thanks to Aunt Mary for embroidering the names and year on there each year - family tradition.
We are blessed.
