Weekly Happenings - 4/29 - 5/5

1.  On Monday, Peyton picked-out her outfit.  Shorts, t-shirt (jacket to start the day) and boots, of course?!  She was quite proud and asked for a picture.  Of course, I was glad to catch this one!

2.  You may think this picture is on the wrong week but unfortunately, it is not.  This is the SNOW we had on Thursday - May 2.  It didn't stick around for long but still.  Ugh!

3.  This week was a big one for the house - we had our cabinets refaced from honey oak to this beautiful dark bamboo wood.  It really dresses up the kitchen and looks like we have all new cabinets.  So glad we made this change!!

4.  On Friday, Grammy & Grandpa came up to spend some time with the kids while Chad & I went to see Ironman 3 at the Fork & Screen.  The movie was great and I loved having dinner at the theater - and was pleasantly surprised at how yummy the food was!  Grammy helped the kids make Mother's Day cards and had a yummy dinner.  They also helped us get the kitchen put back together since we had to empty ALL of our cabinets to have them refaced.  We made yummy blueberry muffins for breakfast and after lunch on Saturday it was time for Grammy & Grandpa to head home - we had a great visit!

5.  On Sunday morning, Garrison wanted some water so Peyton wanted to help.  She didn't quite get his sippy lined-up where it needed to be so water landed on the floor.  Check-out this team-work to clean up the mess.

6.  Daddy also has been working on the kids' playset this weekend, even in the sleety rain we had on Saturday.  It is coming together and today he had two excellent project managers helping him out!  Of course, they had to take a break or two to stomp in some mud puddles in the back yard!

7.  Garrison gets more words every day, but still loves to stomp his foot for emphasis.  Such a silly boy!  He was very excited that Apollo arrived home after an extended visit at Grammy & Grandpa's and doesn't like him to get out of his sight!

We had a great time with the kids - the looks on their faces when we picked them up at school were priceless - melted our hearts when they ran across their respective rooms to jump into our arms. Ahhh-being a grandparent is the best! We had a good evening - even had a good laugh when Garrison pottied on the bathroom floor after his bath while we were busy with Peyton. He was so funny about it - and quite proud. He owned up to it right away. Too cute. Glad it was on the tile floor and not on carpet!

The "new" kitchen is beautiful! Really changed things.

We enjoyed having Apollo visit us - I keep catching myself looking for him or getting ready to put him out. I'm sure he is happy to be back with his family. Garrison is quite fond of him!

The playset is coming along - can't wait to see it completed!

Great family memories.

Peyton's fashion sense needs a bit of refinement at times. She's a hoot!
