Weekly Happenings - 10/31 - 11/6

1. Garrison had a big day on Monday, his first day of school!! I forgot to take his picture in the morning at school but we captured his first day with this pic once we got home. His first day was Halloween so he dressed for the holiday! :) He had an excellent week and by the end of the week was taking 4 ounces in all of his bottles (vs. 2-3 ounces previously). He is napping well and they tell us he is a happy, content baby. Garrison even got to participate in art this week - SO cute!

2. Since Monday was Halloween, Peyton's class had their Halloween party. There is a bank that is close to her school that always wants the kids to come and trick-or-treat so I and several other parents arrived at school to help walk the 19 kiddos in her class over to the bank. Wow - that was an adventure! Let me just say that I admire her teachers more after that event but the kids had a great time and Peyton did an excellent job of saying trick-or-treat and thank you! After they trick-or-treated we headed back to her classroom for lots of fun treats. Here is a pic of her with her closest friends in class - Kate, Kate & Victoria!

3. And then it was time for the big trick-or-treating event. This year we walked around with several of our neighborhood friends. First is a pic of our two little angels with their carved pumpkin - love it!! The second pic was our attempt at getting all of the kids in one picture. Not too bad for 7 kids all under the age of 4! Peyton & Kylie really got into the evening's activities and would sprint from one house to the next. I'm really glad Peyton enjoyed it as much as she did this year!

4. Saturday morning we had a special visit from Grammy, Grandpa & Great-Grandma Mintun. Peyton was super excited to see them (as was Garrison I'm sure) and as she was waiting for them to arrive would say, "Yay, Grammy!" about every 5 minutes, even though they weren't going to be here for about another 20 minutes. While we had helpers in town Chad & I headed up to The Legends to get our Christmas shopping started and we all enjoyed a tasty lunch when we arrived home. While we were gone, Peyton had the chance to show Grandma her fancy new car (and how fast it now goes!) and play lots of fun games with Grammy & Grandpa.

5. Saturday afternoon we took the opportunity to enjoy the awesome fall weather we continue to have and we took a family walk, this time with the wagon. It worked great to have the kids in the wagon which I pulled and Apollo pulled Daddy! :) We even made a trip up to the mall where Peyton rode the carousel and we did a little more Christmas shopping. What a great Saturday!!!

6. Really, the kids' rooms didn't come together this weekend or anything but I haven't ever posted pictures of Garrison's finished nursery or Peyton's room with her new furniture - so, here goes!

7. Peytonisms - Peyton has been cracking us up lately with some of the phrases she has picked-up on.
--When handing Apollo his treats this morning she said, "Daddy, I am going to do it properly." Note - she got in trouble last week for throwing Apollo's treats at him - guess she remembered she needed to do it the right way in order to give him his treats.
--When hosting a tea party for Daddy & I, Peyton took her play syringe and put "a shot of coffee in Daddy's hot chocolate, and a shot of cream."
--When getting Daddy's tea ready before he was in the room Peyton looked at me and said, "This isn't yours, actually, it is Daddy's." She is hilarious!

We loved our visit - the only problem was it was way to SHORT! Of course, I could have stayed for days and not had my "fill" of my precious grandchildren - love them so much. I had to wear my tiara for quite some time - Peyton is a hoot! Garrison is all smiles - he seems to just take it all in and enjoy. Grandma liked seeing Peyton drive her car, but she was a little surprised at how fast it goes. Peyton continues to improve as a driver! Peyton wanted to play with the I-Pad. We told her we didn't know how to turn it on - she said, "that's okay, I know", and she did. Grandpa thought it had gone off at one point, but she "fixed" it. Family memories - great blessings. Great pictures.

Both kids' rooms are great - Chad did an especially good job painting Peyton's room - a princess truly lives there! Her new furniture is fantastic. Grammy gives it a 10!
